Today, at noon, it was 50 degrees in Duluth. Yep, you heard me... 50 degrees. They said it was supposed to get to 77 by the lake. It didn't get even close. Right now it's 63. Did someone say it was summer?

We had 90s with a humidity of 87% on Sunday. It was awful. But that's the problem with living in Minnesota... it's heat and humidity.

We havent had a "real" summer IMO in years. I remember when it used to get into the 90's and stay there for awhile...we would even hit 100 occassionally but not anymore. We dont even come close to starting summer until July. June has sucked for years now so all you have are July and August. September starts cooling off fast and you can have snow on the ground by the end of October.

Heh. What's the humidity?

That's what flattens me is humidity. The SE and Central US are incredibly unfriendly places to be in the summer.

A few years back I was in Vegas when it was 108, but it was dry. It actually felt good, not like you want to melt like it does here when it's over 95.

usually we don't have a lot of humidity

with all the fires we do I believe wesnday was about 60 percent
it was horrible day to work in.

I was stationed at Fort Benning Georgia for a while that was like living in
sandwich bag of stale water on the dashboard of a car in July in hell.

You ain't just whistlin' Dixie. I live in Kentucky ... the hottest it usually gets in the summer is low 100s (and that's high) but the humidity is a killer. It feels like a freakin' steam bath here ... all summer lol.

I've lived in California a good chunk of my life and I'll take their version of heat any day (and their version of "cold" too, for that matter lol).

I guess I am in the minority but when we traveled through California and Nevada I thought this whole, "its a dry heat" was a crock. We stopped in Baker and it was 114....it felt like someone had 50 blow dryers blowing on me...it was friggen hot as hell, humidity or not.

I've thought about moving to Minneapolis in recent years, but can't bear to leave this weather. I love Texas heat. It's hot, sticky, and humid, but I don't mind a bit, and the winters are king! This time of year, however, you can't be outside in peak hours for too long.

well if you lay a wrench or tool on the ground for a few moments and pick it it will burn
you I know that for sure.

the hotest it gets here is about 118 but that is pretty rare we have already had several 108
plus.

I think what balances it out is that, when the sun goes down, it gets fairly cool. My fiance` lived in Vegas for 5 years and she really longs for that weather.

Here in the Upper Midwest, if it's hot during the day (and humid) you are in for an uncomfortable night as well.
