Gopher/Indiana basketball

Did anyone see this game? Oh my God, what an ending!

The Gophers lead for much of the game, but with less than 10 seconds on the clock, committed several fouls which gave Indiana a one point lead with 1.5 seconds left on the clock. Tubby called time out to calm his team. They then calmly inbounded the ball over the half court line and Hoffarber caught the ball, turned and put up a left handed prayer shot. And it went in! Shades of Christian Laettner!

PS Did anyone see the Minnesota/Mankato State hockey game? Great game that went to 2 overtimes. And the best ending for Gopher hockey haters... the Gophers lost! :)

From our view, there's nothing wrong with the Gopher hockey team. We like 'em like this! :)

But seriously, I think they've been hurt by early defections to the NHL. It's becoming an epidemic.

Oh, you're a loser Duluth fan? :P JK

I think you're right. They really need to stop that because it isn't fair to the college teams. I remember reading they were looking into that, but I don't know if anything ever came of that.

Personally, I think any college athlete who goes pro before they graduate should have to pay back their scholarship. All four years of it. They are not there to use college as a minor league. They are there to get an education, which their athletic prowess is giving them access to.
