I'm sure that will keep at the bottom of
the draft if he gets drafted at all by some
teams ..

It's looking that way.Mothman wrote: He's starting to look like a candidate who could fall out of day 2, isn't he?

Jon Gruden said if a player didnt work out well live, they wouldnt just drop him on their board. Theyd take player off the board altogether.

"Sources tell us". Ah, what would we do without Mr. and Mrs. Sources?
He sure does get around to all the news outlets, doesn't he. I think the most fun in this draft will be seeing how many times Mr/Ms. Sources is right or wrong. No wonder he won't give his real name!

Now I wonder who the Vikings might target in the second round, garapolo? I guess they might try to trade back into the first if Carr or Bridgewater falls into the mid to late 20's.
Re: 2014 Vikings Draft Discussion
Yeah, me too. I like Mosely a lot, but if he makes it past us, there's talk he could go the Packers. It sucks to draft someone at 8 that we could draft at 16, so if we don't like any of the QBs and Mack is gone I think we'll try to trade down. If we could trade down to the 13-16 range and pick up Mosely, a good corner, or even Clinton-Dix I'd be pretty happy.dead_poet wrote: I totally get it. I just see Mack a bit differently. I think he's superior to Mosley as a run defender and pass rusher and (at least in my evaluation), if Mosley is slightly better in coverage, it doesn't make up for Mack's superiority in the other categories. On my board at least, Mack is ranked higher. I'd take either, of course, but I'd have a hard time pulling the trigger with Mosley at #8 overall.

Re: 2014 Vikings Draft Discussion
I would want Pryor or Bucannon before Clinton-Dix. Ha ha is more like Harrison Smith than anything. Pryor and Bucannon are both big time hitters and both are solid on coverage as well. I would be very happy with either of them if we trade down. Bucannon might surprisingly find his way into 1st round considerationmaembe wrote:

Re: 2014 Vikings Draft Discussion
Live at Vikings headquarters, ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported on SportsCenter Wednesday that Minnesota is not expected to select a quarterback at the No. 8 overall pick.
Per Holtzman, the Vikings are "prepared to wait a round or two, if not longer." UCF's Blake Bortles and Fresno State's Derek Carr are both tentatively expected to be available at No. 8, though it sounds like Minnesota would rather target someone like LSU's Zach Mettenberger or Pittsburgh's Tom Savage later on. New OC Norv Turner will want a big, strong-armed QB for his vertical offense.

Re: 2014 Vikings Draft Discussion
Norv's vertical offense? I hope he can adapt to the talent the Vikings currently have in house. I don't see much in the makings of a vertical offense. They don't have the receivers, don't have the QB, and they have the best power running back in the league who _wants_ the ball. If they draft that big armed pocket passer, I hope they don't force him into action too soon just because Norv wants to go vertical.

Please, please, please. I really hope that Mettenberger's dilute urine sample and his spondy kills his draft stock - thus deterring us from drafting him. I don't want Zach Mettenberger anywhere near this football team.

I still have a hunch they'll trade out of 8. Sounds like they're fielding lots of calls for it and "lining up their dancing partners".
Interesting choice of numbers. We have the 8th and 40th pick, who is number 16? The Cowboys. Clearly we're trading down with Dallas. #SourceConfirmed“You can’t be afraid,” Spielman said. “Regardless of position, if there’s a guy there that you have strong feelings for, whether it’s at [pick] eight or 40 or 16, then you take him.

What players do you think Rick would legitimately select at #8? I think it's very likely that it's either a offensive lineman, quarterback, corner, linebacker, or maybe receiver.
I'm stoked to find out who we pick first.

Just about anything, except RB, TE, & FB.
