Speaks volumes on the stubbornness of Norv Turner to run his system - winning be damned. An offensive coordinator with his experience should realize that when your offensive line is this poor - you should probably adjust your offensive game plan.

As posted in the Bridgewater thread - it is gut-check time. This offensive system needs changes the last month of December - or we are going nowhere fast.

How much of that pressure is occurring because he hangs onto the ball too long and how much of it is due to blocking breaking down too quickly?

And how much is on the receivers? They're symbiotic and you're probably talking about, what, a half-second to differentiate? I'm inclined to say it's probably 50% f*ck up by one or multiple linemen on any given play, 35% Teddy and 15% receivers but the problem probably shifts from play to play and I'm probably being too generous on the receivers, mostly because I often can't see how covered they are but I can clearly see when Fusco or Clemmings whiffs, misses an assignment, gets beat, etc. That movie is always playing.

To be honest I'm more worried about this than I am the offense. If they cannot stop a Seattle team with a terrible OL, no Lynch, and no Jimmy Graham then how do we expect to beat any of our next four opponents?

The stat Poet put with regards to 7 step drops and QB pressure is very troubling to me. Given the state of our OL running 7 step drop backs seems criminal.

As much as I've dogged the guy, I'm really wondering why our offense isn't built more around CP84 and Rudolph in the short to intermediate game while Diggs and Wallace can run crosses and stuff to the outside? If teams are so focused on AP, then it shouldn't be hard to create match up issues with those two guys.

Would not describe the Seahawks O as toothless.....Wilson just had a 5 TD game couple weeks ago. I'd beg/borrow/steal for 5 TD's in one game.

50 percent f*ck up by the OL sounds right and so does 35 percent for Teddy, give or take 5 percent.

OTOH, I would say much of what the receivers are running has to do with Norv's sainted system. It is HIS system, assuming there really is a system in place.

Glad more and more stats are coming out that show what i've been preaching the past couple weeks. Norv's gotta be fired.

Here's a SEA player being interviewed and talking about how they know what we're going to do and how we have so many "keys"

"If they're in the gun we knowz day iz passin, when they in 11 personnel we knewz day waz passin" Well if this genius figured it out we're doomed LOL.

Seattle's coverage was basically giving Vikings 5 yards any time they wanted. Never took it. They knew their opposition.

Same game plan would have been eaten alive by team like Patriots. Vikings just passed into the teeth of the defense every time.

And how many plays on special teams does Patterson have to make in order to try to get on the football field? Again, don't give me the route running BS... the guy can flat make plays. He's a better kick returner than Percy Harvin, and he is fast. Criminy.

The Genius OC gave the best RB in the NFL 8 carries, which resulted in 18 yards. Add 4 catches for 6 yards.... 6 freaking yards on 4 catches !!!

AD even stated that they were out coached. Can we please start a Fire Norv thread !!!
He's soooooo overrated

He's in Norv's dog house for some reason, I've joked about it being because he wouldn't go train with Irvin in the off season but who knows! It's been over a year, to think Patterson just hasn't improved at all is getting harder and harder for me to believe.

The thing is, even if he hasn't improved, we see the kid still has it when he's bringing these kicks back for TD's, I'm with Jim now, it's unacceptable. Get the ball in his hands by any means necessary! It'd be one thing if we were just lighting it up with 30 points per game but yeah... not really the case.

They were badly out coached at least when it comes to our offense vs their defense so I can't really blame Peterson. He's our best home run hitter and like Jim says, any hand off to him can go for a quick score, he's this offenses big play threat so there's no excuse what so ever for 8 carries.

This isn't the first time either, every time we lose peterson has sub 10 carries it feels like. Okay (had to look it up) 13 vs green bay but you get the idea...

At the risk of derailing this thread into Flash territory, can anybody think of an elite returner that was given less of a chance on offense than Patterson?

Off the top of my head:

Josh Cribbs averaged 49 touches per year over a 4 year span from 08-11

Devin Hester averaged 48 touches per year over a 4 year span from 07-10

Jacoby Jones averaged 39 touches per year over a 5 year span from 09-13

Even Ted Ginn Jr has 5 seasons with 38 or more touches.

I just don't get it.

Yeah I was gonna say Ted Ginn but noticed your edit, how many of those 5 were with miami though? Looks like he only had 3 seasons there before they cut him.
