If the media wants to indulge in obviously transparent nonsense, what difference does it make in the bigger picture? They want people to get upset about these "nontroversies" but there's really nothing to be upset about. This stuff doesn't hurt the Vikings. It doesn't impact the games. It's literally much ado about nothing. I'm sure Jennings is aware of that. Most of us are smart enough to be aware of it too.

I'd rather hear Jennings give an interesting interview like the one he gave yesterday and have all this idiotic fallout than have another intelligent player stifled into spouting nothing but clichés. The latter would inevitably bother the "that press conference was too boring" and "that was just coachspeak/playerspeak" crowd anyway.

These days, players and coaches can't win and fans make angry calls to sports talk radio stations and post expletive-filled rants at the drop of a proverbial hat.

I'll be glad when the regular season begins and we can focus on the games.
Agreed. I hear 1500espn radio guys, (who I enjoy and listen to a lot), pretty much say, "don't make Aaron Rodgers mad". Well....ok, I see that point. But Rodgers' knowing of Jennings talk can help or hurt him. Trying to over impress can be a bad thing for a QB as well.
But, Jennings isn't helping Ponder's case a ton with his mouth. And Jennings is setting himself up for high expectations when the ball gets thrown to him.

Talk about bitter.
Greg Jennings' move from Green Bay to Minnesota has made "85" Packers jerseys more affordable than ever. The NFL's online shop has them marked down to $59.99, and bidding on eBay starts at only $12.99.

Or you could go to one Green Bay shop, where they're giving them away. Literally.

...

The store gave away more than 200 Jennings items on Thursday, ranging from jerseys and t-shirts to hats. And those items will now be put to uses ranging from car washing and door mats to kindling.

And they both have more rings than the entire Vikings franchise in their history. They don't seem to be the bitter ones...

I changed the name of the thread since the discussion of Jennings' appearance on "First Take" is long over.

I saw this in the Pioneer Press and thought it was interesting:

Ponder also has yet to throw a pass toward Jennings, despite plenty of talk about their efforts to get on the same page. With a defender lined up across from Jennings, though, there's some added complexity to the receiver's game.

"Greg is not a typical route runner; he does a lot of stemming in his routes," coach Leslie Frazier said. "If he wants to run an out route, he is not going to just run straight up the field and break out. He is going to stem the defensive back inside and try to get his hips turned, get his feet out of whack, and then he will break outside.

"So as a quarterback, you've got to adjust to when he is going to get in and out of his routes, and (learn) at what point he is going to break back out of that route."

Well, they better get on the same page...quick, fast, and in a hurry!

I doubt there's a way to speed that process up behind working together as much as reasonably possible and hopefully, they're already doing that. :)

Seriously,

Jennings chose the Vikes for the $$$$$$$$$$ simple as that. A Good move because soon he will be retired in 5 years maybe and will be glad $$$$$$$$$$$$ that he did. All about the benjamins

If he's unable to stay healthy, it could be as little as three years. And just like Longwell and Favre, he'll retire a Packer.
