The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans are "closing in" on a deal with free agent FS Rahim Moore.

Still out there. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Saints are offering hiim more than $5 million per year. Was supposed to visit the Redskins next.

Thanks DP.
That guy would be worth spending on for a couple of seasons IMO.

I noticed the Cowboys signed FB Jed Collins....they haven't had much use for one in the past few seasons. Is that an AD omen? hmmmmm

I'd be very happy with Browner.

@christomasson Someone close to situation says Mike Zimmer knows how to use Michael Johnson "better than anyone and how to use him all over the place.''

Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping that Zimmer being here was going to lead to an influx of Defensive talent that simply wanted to be bathed in his glory.

Oh, for cryin' out loud... I like Tomasson but if a reporter can't even get someone on the record making a statement that innocuous, he could just leave it unsaid or say it himself. Did that really need a "someone close to the situation"?

By the way, as long as I'm venting... close to what situation? The "Johnson used to play for Zimmer" situation"? The "Vikings might sign Johnson" situation? How is this person close to the situation?

Because the source is anonymous, a statement like that has no more credibility or relevance than if one of us posted it! what qualifies this source to make that kind of judgment and makes it their view newsworthy?

The rampant use of anonymous sources for almost everything in NFL journalism has become laughable, especially when so much of the info provided from such sources proves unreliable.

On that note:

@JasonLaCanfora: Hearing the Fins, Bills, Rams, Vikings and possibly even Saints sniffing around on Evan Mathis, who Eagles are willing to move...

I'd take Mathis as a bridge to Yankey, Scherff or yet un-rostered rookie. Yep.

Probably. Rarely do you get anyone to speak on the record anymore, especially NFL executives.
By the way, as long as I'm venting... close to what situation? The "Johnson used to play for Zimmer" situation"? The "Vikings might sign Johnson" situation? How is this person close to the situation?
Given the way it was written I think they're simply talking about Johnson's release/availability.
Because the source is anonymous, a statement like that has no more credibility or relevance than if one of us posted it! what qualifies this source to make that kind of judgment and makes it their view newsworthy?
It's probably someone within an NFL front office that wishes to remain anonymous. The reporters grant them anonymity to keep them as a source for information. Heck, even Schefter or Mort don't use names. They all just quote "sources" unless it's a press conference or other public event.

I love angry Jim.

Laughing @ the 'Angry Jim' moniker.

Reminds me of a character you might see from the Legion of Doom from the oldschool Superfriends cartoon.....like Solomon Grundy.

@vxmcclure23 Falcons agree to terms with Adrian Clayborn & Phillp Adams
@mattvensel The #Vikings called on Clayborn, but it never got serious.
