I love AP. He's given us a ton of thrills over the years. But his presence in the lineup cost us today. It wasn't just the fumble. There's just a predictability about us when he's in there. The feeling is that "the Vikings are Adrian's team," and we seemingly HAVE to play that way. If we give it to him 23 times for 45 yards, like we did today, that hurts us. But if we don't give him his carries, we're criticized for not riding our horse. The only thing that works is when he busts out, which is happening less and less often.

I'd love to think we could split carries more with McKinnon, but it seems AP's ego won't let that happen.

If I had to guess, I'd say next year will be Adrian's last with the Vikings.
I agree with you 100%. He just screws up in the clutch times too often.

I wonder if we could get something for him during the off season. But I doubt we open up the new stadium without AD on the team. Which is pretty silly. Its time to move forward. Now. But it will be after next season before we do from AD.

Did anyone else go "oh no" when they lined up on the near hash in close quarters? I knew he was going to miss.
Need somebody to remind coach that BW does not like to kick from that hash. Shame on AP AGAIN!

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

Locke is terrible. His punts were/are/going to be terrible. I have honestly yet to see a punt im impressed by. Nut up and spot the ball right without gloves for 20 seconds. Should be cut tomorrow.

Walsh still should have made it. He kept them in the game, though. Gotta feel for him.

Id be willing to make a bet they told AP to at least keep the ball in the middle of the field. He is not a very intelligent person. How many times did he try to get cute today and lose large chunks of yards? Nice fumble, too.

Ive convinced myself this team looks and performs better with McKinnon back there. Trade AP. Hes done a massive amount for the franchise but i just dont think he fits in this offense anymore.

The defense one of the tops in the league and on track to become special. Load up on O-line and a big reciever in off-season.

Dang this loss just sucks so hard. I dont want to watch anymore football this season.
Well said! I would follow the same prescription for the offseason.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, cruise on over to vikings.com and check out Zimmer's presser. I love this coach and this team.

Regarding AP, he's been feast or famine this season, the big question looking towards next season is how much of that famine was due to the line, and how much to AP's age and diminishing abilities? The line effects AP negatively not just in the running game, but in how badly the screw over the passing game.

Its all related. AP does a lot of things well, and Teddy does a lot of things well. They aren't entirely complimentary, but both have value. The line, does pretty much nothing well. They are a disaster.

I hope another off season together will benefit Teddy and AD. And AD better play in the Preseason next year.

I honestly thought there was no freaking chance he'd miss.

The guy was blasting the ball perfectly all day long. He had been 32-33 from inside 30 for his CAREER. He's an NFL kicker.

So no, I didn't think he would miss. When Kyle Rudolph made that beautiful catch and run, I honestly thought we would be preparing for a rematch with Arizona.

The worst part is after Rudolph's catch i let my guard down, became vulnerable to the pain guaranteed to follo

"Oh my, they are going to do it! Come through in the clutch, in a big game!"

Then a giant punch to the gut. Laid on the floor, face down, for about four minutes.

ME!

If I know he stinks from the left, and you know he stinks from the left, why on earth did they not do everything possible to line him up on the right for the most important kick of the season?

Yes, Walsh sucks.... quit making excuses, blah blah blah. That is all besides the point. The point is to do the best you can with what you have in the most important kick of the season. Not doing so by lining Walsh up on the left hash is a mistake, either by AD or the coaching staff.

I was surprised AP was even allowed to touch the ball down there. I would have bet that Asiata was going to get the carries.
