Wasn't counting on Bukowski or Sirles, but I like Shephed a lot better than Clemmings myself. Anyways, we'll obviously be cutting more than half the OL on our current roster. Not sure Beavers has a great chance to make the team.

NOT ONE #### word about the Vikings trading out, they just took our name out and moved on to the next pick without ANY explanation. I HATE the NFL channel's BIAS against us :soap

Don't know. We're stacked there right now but with so few under contract for next year. That alone may save him if he's not completely abysmal.

But where are they going to stash everyone?? I don't think a 4th rounder can hide on the PS and you can only keep so many OL on a 53 man roster. Rick sort of boxed himself in with all of these 1 year deals (and the 1 year option on Kalil)

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter

Apparently behind this guy, he's a monster.

Our philosophy for improving our OL = round up a bunch of big bodies and see who can get in the way of on coming rushers better.

Beavers was originally recruited as a D lineman in Illinois. Perhaps the #Vikings are planning to do a reverse Isame Faciane with him?

I'm not opposed to the approach but they have to be wiliing to dump/trade those higher profile guys if they can get production from a Beavers, a Shepherd, a Bykowski, a Sirles, etc etc etc, or they are just making a mockery of themselves.

If Matt Kalil isn't the best left tackle on the team, waste the 11 mill and move on. If Clemmings isn't one of the 7-8 best OL, dump him and move on. Otherwise bringing in all these bodies is an absurd waste of time.

Looks like he was projected for the 3rd (NFL, CBS Sports), so looks like good value.

I'm glad we went for an O lineman.

Something seems fishy with Billings' drop.
I can't speak to Billings' situation, but Beavers made sense for me as both a solid value and need pick at this point in the draft provided they are targeting him to back up and/or potentially replace Kalil. Beavers will need to hit the weights and gain some strength, but otherwise he's got the tools needed to be a solid LT as a pro.

In Sparano we trust? Would think he had input on the selection.

Sounds like Beavers has the drive / tenacity zimmer and sparano are after, would be shocked if he doesn't make the team.

Twitter is saying he has the measurables but feels like left tackle TJ Clemmings. So...yeah. Hopefully he doesn't see the field for awhile and isn't the plan should we move on from Kalil in '17. He did some work at guard at the senior bowl. We'll wait and see where the Vikings want to play him.

Per Eric Thompson:
Early film review: if Beavers does get initial leverage, he does maintain and finish blocks very well.
