Some of the comments on the bottom just show how little people know about investing. The amount of money the state stands to make by building a stadium would completely blow these morons away. It is too bad that if a stadium was built everyone would benefit rather then just the supporters.
+ a million....

you all ( citizens of minnesota ) will be REALLY disappointed when the team moves on. you'll be even MORE disappointed when in 5-7 years another stupid team moves in because people finally realized how smart it is to have an nfl team....

nfl = $$$$$

I really cant believe that this state and Dayton cant get this through. Anyone should know the value of the Vikings. Can you imagine this happening to the Packers? Never. Politics makes me want to puke. Just tax the area and get it done with already. The Wilfs are starting to tick me off too. On a local radio station they were talking about the millions upons millions his group makes, yet hes standing on Arden Hills to make extra parking money? I couldnt care less where the statdium is, build it in Duluth. Just build it already. NFL owners are more greedy then the players.

i know the economy is bad in minnesota. but know ones life style will change if the vikings stay in minnesota. the economy will get better WITH a new stadium. investing in the future ! most people who are against it are probably not sports fans. :confused:

I stopped reading the Strib a LOOOOOOONG time ago because of the comments on EVERY SINGLE ONE of its stories. Some of the most callous, frustrating, and "trollish" people on the internet seem to flock there....they're also generally unintelligent. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the comments.

Let's hope the outcome (in terms of end of the 2010 season) is a little better. :wink:

Vikings consider raising their share for a new stadium
In their bid to solidify support for a new stadium in Arden Hills, the Vikings also might accept a non-retractable roof to limit the total cost.

If this deal doesn't get done, I certainly wouldn't blame Wilf for leaving if that what he decides to do. They are really working hard to get this done. I just wish there were smarter people in the Legislature to help with it.

Wilfs have been pretty good in the whole matter. My biggest problems with them are, keeping Bagley on the project. From the outside looking in, he seems a bit in over his head and the plans have seemed to be last minut, up against the wall, knee jerk, plans. Second, I dont think they have been aggressive enough. Its not like this stadium issue is new, its been coming for a decade. Its fine to be nice and patient, but there is a time to draw a line in the sand and say, "Either this gets done by XXXX date, or we are going to do XXX." Weather that is move, sell the team, or whatever, they need to have options and concequences. MN politicians will obviously drag this out as long as possible, and NO good will come from that, costs will only go up, so it makes no sense. Either the state wants them or they dont. I personally am against the state giving anyone money, if they choose to, fine, its not the only thing the govt does that I dont like, and if thats the case, say so, let the Wilfs move on. If thats not the case, and they want the Vikings to stay, get it done. Putting it to a vote would certainly (IMO) send the Vikings out of town. While Im a huge fan, if I lived where I could vote, Id vote against it. So, if the state feels its beneficial to keep the Vikings, they need to get it passed, without a public vote IMO. I would never complain about the state giving them money, but I personally would never vote for them to do so. IMO, the state/govt does things we likely all disagree with, some more than others. I would never "not vote" for a lawmaker who passed the Vikings bill, or voted against it, based on that vote alone.

Either way, someone in the govt needs to put this to bed asap IMO.

Well, I mean, if the retractable roof was the biggest issue, which I doubt it was, they probably would have mentioned it. Who knows anymore what will happen with this stadium ordeal. Frankly I am to the point were nothing is going to surprise me one way or the other.

Either retractable, or no roof. Non-retractable is so depressing. :(

Now they're back to redesigning the stadium.

Seems like every time they take one step forward they take two steps back.

More like they take one step forward and the state pushes them four steps back.

They need to get something done. I'm tired of rumors of the Viking leaving Minnesota. I love football, and even more I love the Vikings. Without the Vikings football will not exist anymore to me. I wonder if there's a way to pay some of my taxes towards a new stadium. I live in Delaware, and if all I had to do is pay 1/2 a cent per dollar to keep the Vikings in Minnesota, I would be thrilled.
