That sounds brilliant, time for one more play before attempting a tying FG attempt to send the game into over time, so throw a deep pass, which if incomplete, game over, intercepted game over, sack game over (which it was of course) or throw a QUICK out and if the receiver is not open right off then throw the ball over his head out of bounds. This leaves time for a tying FG attempt. So not following the logic, especially with the Cards having one of the top notch DBs playing in the league right now, to be "Brady like" and throw a deep game ending pass into the end zone. To me, everything was set up EXCEPT the O-line broke down too quickly and TB got pressured and did hold on to the ball a little bit too long (that was already discussed). Did TB choke, I say no, in fact he played probably far and away his best professional game.
Fumbles early on and coverage breakdown (2 td passes) spelled doom for this game. So Mossy can go on with his rant about how TB sucks but to me anyway, he played a very good game and most fans can /should see the potential that exists with him at the helm.

I thought not having Barr hurt us a lot last night. Greenaway had a good game last night. But he no longer has the speed to shut down the sweeps. We got burnt a couple times for first downs.
And I'm still peeved about the Hodges trade, we really could have used him this season.
I just have to wonder if your ever gonna see Barr stay healthy for a full season. He takes a pretty good pounding.

I think that's pretty reasonable... Kalil was just so bad on that play though that for me I have to give him most of the blame. I haven't seen anything with the WR's / the play call though yet either so that could change things. I'll blame Teddy if he had some short hot routes he missed but if Norv was asking for him to wait on the WR's to get further down the field then that's on Norv.Mothman wrote:My final thoughts on that last play, which really isn't something I want to get into a heated debate about...
It was certainly a questionable choice of plays by Turner and people are right to say the WR routes developed too slowly, that Kalil blew his block, etc. but in the end, regardless of all of that, it's a play on which the QB must have good situational awareness. There are two mistakes he can't make in that situation: he can't turn the ball over and he can't afford to take a sack. I'm talking about very simple, very basic game concepts here.
In that scenario, pressure is almost inevitably coming from the defense because they understand the situation too.
The bottom line: Bridgewater did what he couldn't afford to do. He needed to make an immediate decision and get the ball out of his hands fast. When the route was developing too slowly, that was the time to throw the ball away, not hold onto it and wait. He had Peterson along the sidelines providing the perfect opportunity to dump the ball off or throw it away by tossing it over Peterson's head and out of bounds without fear of a penalty for intentional grounding.
The loss was on the team, not on Bridgewater alone. He contributed to it but so did his teammates. Hopefully, it was a valuable learning experience for all of them.
I do think it's reasonable though to expect teddy to just throw it away so I understand giving him some blame regardless, you always gotta have that clock in your head as a QB in that situation of like one thousand one, one thousand two... (nothings there) throw it away.

just got off the atlanta falcons forum, and they said they would gladly take bridgewater for matty ice
i think matt ryan would be a good replacement here for norv's unpredictable play calling, and teddy would be great in the atl in a dome as well
what do yall think

I think message boards are not responsible for deciding personnel moves. I'd also stick with Teddy who is 7 years younger and could develop into a better Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan with OUR OL would be a disaster. ANY QB with our OL will be a disaster. Maybe trading QBs with Carolina or the Steelers would work for a short time but in the end, it will fail. Football begins with the OL/DL. We have no foundation.

Look at what tom brady's release time has gone to since losing a dominant Edelman. Teddy has a bad o-line and a coordinator calling long developing routes. The play last night, he had something like 2.5 seconds to throw the ball and was about to throw it away on the play that ended the game last night, I think the fastest QB releases are something like 2.3 seconds?PurpleMustReign wrote: He is. Teddy might not end up being a good enough qb, with his inability to fit the ball in tight spaces and his lack of deep ball accuracy but his "holding the ball" to long has a lot more to do with the pieces around him then him. Every qb can be guilty of it, but we must have 2 of the worst at their respective position atm in clemmings and fusco, and the guys around them aren't playing much above that.

A few people had mentioned the Oline was doing better last night, and I agree, overall (except for Kalil on the last play, there were a few couple ones like that).
But with the improved pass blocking, the run blocking suffered. But Teddy was on fire (imho). Give Teddy time and he can hit the short to intermediate routes. His timing was good, and accurate. The blocking downfield was also good, giving us some good YaC. But even with this, its still like a ratio of 5-1 that the posts bash Teddy over those that have positive things to say about him. He helped keep us in the game, a game which (90% of the board thought we were going to get blown out of). He gave everyone hope (AD was pretty much out of the game at this time). I still dont know if he our long tern answer to QB. But hes as good of an answer that ive seen in a while.

I think Matt Ryan is a clear downgrade from Teddy, they're essentially similar players right now but one has reached his ceiling and peaked while on a big deal while the other is just starting to tap into his potential on a rookie deal so it's not even close.

Noticed there was no comments from anyone when the same thing happened to Teddy and not only was he whining about it after the play, he was complaining to the refs during the play.Mothman wrote:Kudos to Palmer for not complaining about that uncalled facemasking penalty.
