Redskins @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 10

Everybody is going to hate on it but I for one agree with the timeouts. They had to get the right calls in and nobody on that staff or in the defensive backfield could do it in a hurry up situation. The timeouts probably won us that game as crazy as it sounds.

It's a point that's worth arguing, but the other side of that is that if they clock had not stopped, the Redskins may not have been able to have quality attempts at getting a touchdown.

Our D still sucks balls as they tried to lose it once again.

Ponder, AD, and Carlson are the heroes tonight.

Defense did pretty good in the second half, considering how much time they spent on the field in the first half.

Oh my God! My freaking TV cut out on that last play! My little brother recorded my reaction. I was standing 3 feet from the TV yelling at it,and celebrating the "no touchdown". Pretty sure he sent it to people. Wow. Embarrassing!

Probably the only way to get an inept staff and inept defensive squad on the same page. Did you see the play in the first half at the goal line with the 4 wide open receivers? That is what would have happened without the timeouts. Unfortunately.

I'm guessing they were called because the defense looked gassed and they were back on their heels. The timeout gave them a chance to gather themselves and they were able to keep the Redskins out of the endzone and seal the win. Sometimes it pays not to play things by the book.

that was sooooooo lucky that the holding was not called at the goal line. It was about as clear as it could be and yet no call. Had that been us attempting to score this board would be going nuts for the non call. LUCKY WIN

They've ignored much more holding on the Vikes receiver this year about time they let them play.

I think they would. They had 38 seconds left, if they had line up and spiked it, probably 25 seconds to score. Plenty of time to throw the ball the same amount of shots they as we had called the TO.

Then you call the timeout after the ball is spiked if you need time to get your defense set. You at least get the Redskins to lose one more down by spiking the ball rather than gifting them the timeout.
