Will be interesting to see what teams consider him a #1WR. Cause that's all we need. The rest of the WRs are fine. Maybe better then fine if CP ever gets his act together.
In NFL money $100,000 is pocket change. I've watched that vid twice and I'm more impressed the second time I watched it. I think The Vikes need to take this low cost gamble. One of the complaints I saw frequently this year was that the receivers weren't making the tough catch... Particularly Johnson. That vid showed several examples of Duron making tough catches with a lot of enemy jerseys around him. While I still maintain what I said before in that he won't run away from NFL DB's as easily as he was in the clips, his speed did look pretty deceptive and he seems to have some good instincts when he has the ball in his hands. I saw some good route running and fundamentals displayed too. There was one out route shown where he make a good cut to create seperation and also didn't snap his head around till the last second. You can tell he's picked up some tricks from the old man.

I'm not saying or believing he's a savior for the Vikes WR or anything, but if the price is reasonable there is no reason he shouldn't get a shot. It's pretty intriguing.

I think his speed is deceptive because he's so tall. He's a very smooth runner. I'm impressed with his hands...you can tell he grew up catching a football.

I liked the way he catches the ball. Most of the times it's away from his body. He is not afraid to go up and get it, or come across the center. I think he may have some trouble at first with the DB's in the NFL but I don't think it's anything he can't learn.

Besides, the Vikings do better with a Carter on the team than without. :D

AC and CC. Now perhaps a DC. Remember how good Antony Carter was when we got CC? Man I loved him. I was just a kid.

CC has to go down as a top 5 waiver pick up. Moss is my favorite all time receiver, mainly for looking like it was effortless to score long TDs, but I think CC is the best WR the Vikings have ever had. He was what, 6'3''?

Think about players who went to the CFL first because they were not good enough but did quite well once they got back to the NFL, ones who jump to mind.
Warren Moon
Doug Flutie
Cam Wake

Does not happen often but when it does it a roster player without spending a draft pick

And don't for get coach Grant

Not surprised. Wonder if Rick ups the offer or if he leaves money on the table (unlikely).
@GoesslingESPN -- Sounds like Duron Carter is all done with workouts after visit with #Browns. He's got several offers; #Vikings aren't high bidder right now.

@GoesslingESPN -- Duron Carter is probably done taking visits. His agent is talking with the Vikings, Colts and Browns, he said.

Carter the Younger should be a Viking. Sign him Rick!

more wrs the better. wright only has one year left on his deal, jennings is here for one more year tops, patterson may never develop, and charles johnson might wake up and realize that he's charles johnson. now that teddy appears to be legit we need to keep the o line and wr groups full of talent.

I couldn't disagree more. All we have are mediocre WRs. Our #1 WR last season was picked up off a PS. Carter is a favorite only because of his dad. The last thing we need is another #3 WR. We either need a Fitz type WR, or Cooper, and do whatever trading is needed to land him. And then hope to god Kyle stays healthy for a year. Cause with AD back, Teddy is going to look pretty good with a couple realistic targets, not a son of a has been Vike.

That "has been" is a Hall of Fame receiver.

I fail to see why getting a premier WR and Duron Carter are somehow mutually exclusive options or why Carter couldn't turn out to be more than just a mediocre WR. Also, if Greg Jennings isn't a "realistic target", I don't know who would be...

I think what would really help Teddy look good is much better pass protection and a more potent running game. Improving the o-line should be one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, priorities this offseason.

Carter is a favorite because of his dad?? To sit there and say he isn't an interesting prospect and has a lot of potential is just being completely oblivious. If anyone actually took the time to watch his game tape, look at his measurables, etc. then you wouldnt just be sitting there making the assumption that "he's only a favorite because of his dad" I'm not saying this kid is going to be some all star but he definitely has the potential to be a good WR.

Honestly, who cares?? He played very well and we have found something in a guy that's costing us next to nothing. Just because he came off a practice squad doesnt mean he's a bad WR.

Also, I don't see the logic behind signing Fitz. He's no different than Jennings at this point. Maybe a little better but they are 2 different types of WRs. You say we need a guy like Cooper or a "Fitz type guy". Honestly, that doesnt make any sense. They are 2 completely different WRs. Cooper or Parker are the best WR prospects coming out and Fitz is a WR on the wrong side of 30. He would be very similar to Jennings when it comes to reliability but he's not going to fix our #1 WR problem. If we dump Jennings then I'll take Fitz but there is no way I want both

Agreed. If he was Duron Jackson this wouldn't be much of a story at all. He's had maturity issues all along. You need guys who buy in. Try hard every play. Block when asked to. Learn the play book. Not "super freak" athletes. We just benched one of those. We don't need another. He had one year of college ball. And we're suppose to believe all those issues from multiple schools are behind him, because he managed to stay clean for one year in the CFL? No thanks...

My point is, Rick and Co. are not good at picking good WR's. And they love to overpay for them (even going back to the BB days). Not all on Rick ofc. I hope they finally got a QB for the future, but the Vikes haven't been too good at that position for years (other then when Childress and Co. sold us out). I would be extremely interested to know what the other teams Carter had to say. Maybe he is good (a 6'5'' WR would be a great weapon).

Also I LOVE CC. I wasn't trying to discredit anything hes done for the Vikings. My point was, I think that's the main reason the Vikings showed interest in a former CFL player.
