I have to admit, I have only watched him in one game. I see he has ideal size, (6-3, 210) and put up some big numbers this year, but the game I saw he was shut down by a D that wasn't exactly staunch. I'd love a WR in the 1st, though, so I will need to watch some tape.

I've seen some sites (Walter has two different mocks up) that have Gurley ahead of Gordon. That seems crazy given his ACL situation.

1. WR Jaelen Strong AZ State: 12/27 1pm CST
2. WR Nelson Agholor USC: 12/27 7pm CST
3. WR White West Virginia: 12/29 1pm CST
4. WR Devonte Parker Louisville: 12/30 5:30 pm CST
5. WR Amari Cooper Alabama: 1/1 7:30pm CST

Vikes will most likely end up between 15-20 as things stand. That would put them in position to draft any of the top RBs coming out if they were to give any of them a draft grade in that range. I could see either Gordon or Gurley with a grade that high right now.

As with all 1st round picks, it really comes down to who is on the board when the pick rolls around. I think the Vikings intentions in regards to AD also come into play. I don't see them spending a 1st rounder on a RB if they plan to pay AD 15 million next year.

Very true. If they pay AD then a RB is definitely not a need. With McKinnon and Tate as backups.
I agree with many that WR is a priority. Parker would be a great addition. Legitimate #1 type. I also like the Washington State kid Mayle at 6'3 225. The Devin Smith from Ohio State and Montgomery from Stanford.
Another to watch is the Justin Hardy kid from East Carolina. Reminds me of Cobb from GB.

After watching the OL performance vs. the Dolphins today, I think we need to look for a Guard. Scherff would make a lot of sense with his versatility.

Two things, Kalil played flawlessly today and to hell with anyone who does not want to keep Asiata on this team.

Asiata can keep a spot on the team, but there's no way he should be anything more than a 3rd string security blanket/short yardage back

One thing that I don't see many people talking about is how disappointing Captain Munnerlyn and Linval Joseph have been as free agents. Munnerlyn has been burned several times for big games out of the slot and the Vikings run defense has been extremely disappointing.

As Far as team needs go, I think the Vikings neeed immediate upgrades at LG and MLB. I think they could take a BPA approach at WR, slot CB, a run stuffing DT and S. I think everything else would be for depth.

He isn't always on his A game, that's true. And he isn't worth the #1 spot (with our D playing like it did today, we may have to go LB first again, cant believe hodges and cole cant cut it), but if we could work it out to get the BPA, then White. You don't think he a top 15 pick?

I don't think Linval Joseph has been that disappointing tbh. I know when a team struggles in run defense, people automatically turn to the DTs, especially the NT, but a lot of the time I see him occupying his olinemen, it seems to me our LBs are struggling in gap discipline. Not that Joseph has been a stud, he's definitely had some inconsistencies, but he's played well enough IMO to be worth his spot.

Munnerlyn on the other hand has had his ups and downs but more downs then ups. He's had some turnovers and games where he's not really noticed (which is a good thing at CB usually), but he's definitely had games where he was picked on, today in particular. I like his attitude, but his skill set just isn't that great. I'm fine with him in the slot though, hopefully he can grow in Zimmer's defense

I'm disappointed with Joseph, I realize he doesn't play a glorious position so it's hard to judge him by stats but this defense is really bad up the middle and it's hard to give him a pass on that. I'll agree some of that is on the LBs but is there any noticeable difference when he's on the field vs say Stephen? I don't really think so. Other than making a good recovery on a screen pass I didn't really notice him being disruptive, which is something a NT has to be even if you aren't making the tackle.

Honestly? I haven't watched him enough to make a definitive statement. The one game I saw him play was vs. TCU, a team that played spotty D this year overall, and he was completely shut down. Other WRs (The guys from Baylor and Kansas St come to mind) did quite well against TCU's secondary this year, so it concerns me that White got shut down in that game. But this isn't enough of a sample to really make any conclusions yet. I see he put up pretty solid numbers this year.

are the majority of runs Robisons way ? To me he is a vastly undersized LDE. That's a power run blocking side. He is going up against the mammoth RT all of the time. Sure he is quicker in a passing situation, but totally overmatched in the run game. Not thinking the NT can be all to blame.
I just think he's too small. Should be a RDE but was never the player Allen nor Griffen are. A big LDE would solidify the run game, like a Crichton type of player hopefully.
