I think this proved that he can't play. He has been throwing telegraphed INTs for the past couple of years and has no excuses as he's had Foster, same coach/OC, and same OL.

Cool. Guy played his heart out last year and at the very least is a very good punt returner.

That's good news. He earned it last season.

2 years, $4.65 million for John Carlson from the Cardinals.
He sure made out alright.

I'm a bit surprised, the guy is probably one concussion away from the end of his career.

I'm starting to think we might go after Sproles now that he's been released. We need a back up RB and he knows Turners offense. He's also a VERY good receiver out of the backfield. I think he would be a fairly cheap signing and we could now focus that "RB draft pick" on different position of need. I still think Sproles has a lot left in the tank and he would flourish in Turners offense just like he did in SD

I could definitely get behind that signing. I have always been a big fan of Sproles. He would be a great receiver out of the backfield on third down and as a change of pace type player. A guy like him can really take some pressure off a quarterback as an outlet receiver. Turner connection is legit too.

Yeah Sproles still has big time quickness. Every time I see him play he's running right by guys. I would assume great talent for the value.

Philly Mag's Tim McManus reports free agent DE Michael Johnson-to-Eagles "isn't happening."
McManus reported earlier Saturday that the Eagles were interested in Johnson. Once the legal tampering window opened at noon ET, McManus reports talks got "heavy" between Johnson and a "few teams." The Eagles weren't among those teams. Johnson is going to break the bank and will have a robust market.
^I imagine one of those teams have to be us!

ALSO....
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports the Vikings are showing interest in free agent CB Alterraun Verner.
Verner played under DB coach Jerry Gray in Tennessee the last three seasons, so the dots certainly connect. The Vikings also had one worst pass defenses in the league last year and have yet to re-sign Chris Cook. Verner is a top-two free-agent corner and could command $10 million annually. Minnesota has roughly $41 million in 2014 cap space.

Why would Sproles possibly want to come here?

Money and familiarity with the coach and scheme. Why wouldn't he?

Zero chance of being a starter. At best he gets third down duties and if there's an injury. Team has no QB. Little to no chance of making the playoffs. Playing outdoors in a college stadium. So playing time and a chance at a winning are both out of the picture, location, weather. The only reason he would, would be the money, and familiarity.
Why wouldn't he? Really?

For a guy with one good year? Hopefully he breaks someone elses bank...

Do you actually think that Darren Sproles thinks he can be a starter? He didn't even fully start in NO. He can't start with any team because of his size. He's a 3rd down back. He could never carry a full load. You might want to re-think that one

USA Today's Tom Pelissero "would be surprised" if the Vikings didn't make a run at free agent DT Paul Soliai.
Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 Twin Cities confirms the Vikings have expressed interest. Soliai, 30, is fully expected to reach the open market and could sign with a team by next week. He could be a strong fit in Minnesota opposite Sharrif Floyd.
