If you guys wanted to talk football, why is there a separate thread made for this guy and why is he not listed in the threads with all the other draft discussion we have? Because HE IS GAY. If this guy wasn't gay, there's a good chance this thread would never existed.

Nevertheless, it's the Vikings Talk section of a football forum. Frankly, this thread doesn't even belong in this section of the board but the overall subject pertains to football because Michael Sam is a football player. However, all the non-football stuff has no place here. It belongs in the bar section, assuming it has any place on the board at all.

An opinion may be supported by facts, in which case it becomes an argument, although people may draw opposing opinions from the same set of facts.

And where did I say that I had hatred for gays? You are taking my indifference towards homosexual views for hate. I do not hate gay people. I do not wish any bad things towards gay people. I just think what they're doing isn't right. That has nothing to do with hate.

You're missing my point. He's the first X to do something. The first X person to do something notable is a story and receives media coverage. This isn't limited to race. The Jackie Robinson example was meant to compare two men that were the "first" to do something in sports. How about Neil Armstrong? The first man in space? Or Ann E. Dunwoody, the first woman four-star general. Or Danica Patrick. Or Sandra Day O'Connor. The first X person doing something in a large scale in the public eye is newsworthy.

Apparently you never watched wrestling because wrestlers can give input on the direction there character is going in. It's not just the writers calling all the shots. The wrestlers often have ideas for creative pitches.

Because that's what the writers/producers decided would sell. Even if he was the one that suggested it (not likely), it would have to have been approved.

Glad to see now that WWE stopping pushing his butt. It's one thing if a person is gay and excels at their craft. But in his case, it's another more than free opportunities giving to him when there were people way in front of him more deserving.

Or it stopped selling and they moved on to another storyline. It's like if a soap opera introduced another character the writers/producers thought would sell, perhaps the character did for awhile but the audience stopped responding/caring. So they either kill the character off or go another direction. This really has so very little to do with the Sam story it's ridiculous to compare the two.

Bigot is a term created by people who think their unfairly discriminated against just because some people don't agree with their lifestyle.

Again, the definition of a bigot is a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, etc./ a person who hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group. That's the definition of the word. If that's what you are, OK. It doesn't necessarily make you a "bad person." But you can't just re-assign definition of a word. That's what it means.
