Again it's mostly about his contract that itself is mostly guaranteed. I forget what the article said but I think only the Jaguars have enough direct cap space to just absorb his current contract and as far as they go, I think they're more interested in just tanking the year and looking for a solution in the draft. If he gets released someone will pick him up for sure for the league minimum, though I'm not sure why the bucs would do it.

About the Jaguars who traded up 6 spots to draft Gabbert #10. "On April 28, 2011 Gabbert was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft with the 10th overall pick. I bring this up after you mentioned the Jaguars in this post. Talk about dissapointing. I wonder if the Jag fans have a thousand posts talking about what a waste that pick was and ridiculing every aspect of him. I remember a whole lot of fans wishing a praying that the Vikes would have drafted him

It just proves that even picking a franchize QB in the 1st round is a crap shoot at best.

Gabbert is the worst QB I've ever seen and I'm not new to this.

My guess is TB will have to eat the contract and just do what they gotta do to move on and that's release him. I still don't know if it's worth it for Minnesota, but that all depends the things that we don't know about his character/drug addiction or if there is anything like that.

Reports are that he's been released. Be interesting to see who picks him up

Don't think the Vikings should either. A team with a real steady, veteran QB might be fine doing it though. See if they can reform him.

Curious to see who picks this guy up. Trading wasn't an option for anyone, but I bet he'll be picked up by someone now that he's been released. I'll be shocked if he isn't.

I'd take him as well. Either as a stop gap, or a backup. Draft a guy no matter what we do. We could cut Ponder and MBT tomorrow and be a better team for it...
