What a terrible performance. Everyone is using the "cold weather" excuse, but last I checked, TB played in the same conditions last night and had no issues whatsoever.
And am I crazy, or are the Twins the only team in the majors with players that go on the DL for these wuss injuries? How the hell does Mauer have "weak legs?" WTF is going on here? Every season it is the same thing... we lose tons of players to injuries like papercuts. Please, GROW A PAIR for Christ's sake, you are paid millions of dollars to play a freaking game.
And, if Liriano is saying he couldn't feel the ball because it was so cold, and he was pitching like a 2 year old in a wheel chair, WHY DO YOU LEAVE HIM IN, GARDY??? You freaking moron, demand more from your team and quit treating them like pillows.
GOD I hate Gardenhire, and I am really regretting renewing my seaon tickets. This team is apathetic joke and an embarrassment to MLB, and that is saying a lot considering the steroid era and Bud Selig. I can't believe how many excuses we hear every time. "Oh its too cold, my knee hurts, my nose hairs are too long".

So how do you really feel??? LOL. Im with you 100%. This team will do NOTHING, until Guardy is gone, he is a terrible manager IMO. He has NO IDEA how to assemble a starting rotation, none, zero. The dude who pitched last night was our supposed "ace", yuk. He is a wuss and a crybaby IMO, thought that years ago when he used to piss and moan that he was taken out of the game too early all the time.

Being a pro sports fan in Minny requires a lot of stubbornness.

i'm with you guys for the most part except for the questioning of mauers injury. first, i think he has earned the right with his play to give him the benefit of the doubt that if he could be out there he would be. second, playing catcher is probably the most difficult position on the field in terms of wear on your body...especially the knees. i would rather have joe rest now and get healthy and come back full strength then come back now and play as poorly as he was to start the season. it was clear he was not right from opening day.

i agree liriano looks like crap. our pitching is brutal.

My beef with Mauer's injury is more about how did it happen? Like, did he not train during the offseason? Did he come back from surgery too soon (I think he had offseason surgery, didn't he?)? It just baffles me that a $23 million/year player is on the DL because of muscle weakness. It also scares me that there may be something more wrong with him and that he needs to get out from behind the plate ASAP... Like I said before I like Butera behind the plate, his arm is a freakin cannon. And he handles the pitchers well.

can't wait for the draft tonight. especially can't wait for the flods of posts after our pick talking about how horrible the pick was!

and you know what? Even though Ozzie has hated the Twins as the enemy for pretty much his entire life (playing and managerial careers), I could see him taking the job just to spite Kenny Williams. Note, I'm assuming that Kenny will eventually end up having to fire Ozzie for something.

Ozzie, heck, Id be happy with ANYONE not named Guardy. We absolutely suck so far this season. But he "does more with less" crap will come up at some point. He should be fired now.

Good job, Gardy... way to take Duensing out when he was pitching really well and then put in NATHAN who completely blew up.

What a disaster in KC this weekend.
I read where this twins team is off to the worst start in club history or something. No wonder they don't want to play and come up with wussy injuries.

Gave up double digits again! Yuk. This team is really struggling, both pitching and hitting. Its not even any fun to watch. Last season, the Twins could fall behind and fight back sometimes, make it a game, now they just fall apart.
