Morneau and Crede are now out for the season, both with back issues. I hope Morneau's doesn't end up being chronic like Crede's, it's a stress fracture.
The Crede signing was good for about 2/3 of the season. Dude didn't play after August 1st. I hope he doesn't come back, and I hope we try to swing a deal for Adrian Beltre.

Congratulations Detroit on your Central Divison title...

Chicago Tribune had some rumor mill stuff that Crede is going to retire.

Potential big weekend for the Twinkies...started things off good tonight against the Tigers and puts them only 3 games back. A sweep would be huge, and their remaining schedule after this Detroit series is going to make things very interesting. 3 games vs the White Sox who will always play us tough, and then KC who've been putting a beating on some teams lately so they can't be taken lightly. Then back to Detroit to close out the season, which could be VERY interesting. Deja vu anyone?

That's a bummer about Morneau being out for the rest of the season, I didn't even know about that until I checked on this thread! I noticed he wasn't in the lineup the past few days and assumed it was just some day-to-day thing or rest. Cuddyer has really stepped up lately though. He's been swinging a hot bat lately and driving in the runs.

Actually after all that they have a three game set with KC at home. It will be an interesting couple weeks for sure.

Interesting tie-in to the Vikings: I just read this story on PFT about how if the Twins end up in a tie with the Tigers and have to play a tie-breaker again like last season, there's a possibility the Vikings/Packers game on MNF (10/5) could get moved to Lambeau!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... o-lambeau/

I would be insanely pissed off if that happened, since I have tickets to that epic MNF game and a hotel room, etc....

You have to click on "Oct" at the top of the page. The KC series is the last series at the Metrodome. Also, look at the bottom of this page: http://espn.go.com/mlb/teams/schedule?team=min

Trust me, I know my Twins and Vikings info :P :D

^That detroit and KC series will be two of the biggest in recent memory. KC could prove to be spoilers or help us to the playoffs.

The Twins beat Chicago in their final match up only to lose games against the Royals in the final series last season.

Well, one of the biggest reasons that the Twins are as close as they are is because KC swept the Tigers this past week. They love ruining teams hopes...

Let's just get this game won tomorrow and take it from there. GO TWINS! There's still a little bit of Metrodome magic...

Ack, that's what I get for posting in the morning before drinking my coffee :)

Is there any chance that Morneau plays again if the Twins get into the postseason?

You are correct, sir! I know, I have tickets to the last Twins regular season game at the Dome on October 4th against Kansas City. The same team, incidentally, that they played in the last Twins game at the Met, a game I also attended. Let's hope there's a better outcome for the Twins in this year's game, though.

Not sounding like it to be honest. I'm getting the overall feeling that he's shut down for the year...not to mention Cuddyer is doing AMAZING @ first base...

Yeah, for now. Cuddy is either hot or cold... I hope the other shoe doesn't drop anytime soon.
