Not only busted twice, but getting off because of their high paid lawyers. Crime pays when you have lawyers. Funny thing is, the Wilf's wanted to 'clean' up the team and its image. How laughable is that. But people love our generous owners!

I wonder if it would help to trade AD, if he came back this year. If that's what the Vikes had in mind. I would think theres a team that doesn't just want to wait until he hits the open market. They want to make a deal right away and assure he is on their team, maybe until he is done playing football. I cant see AD staying here if the sponsors aernt happy. Or maybe they will feel missing most of this season is enough punishment.

I don't think any team wants to assume AP's current salary, which is what happens if he is traded.

Ugh! If the Vikings had any luck at all they wouldn't be put in a position of having to make a decision on Peterson until after the season has concluded. Having been out all this time I don't see him being able to play against Detroit so it comes down to the last two meaningless games of the season.

Fran Tarkenton has weighed in on the subject:

I think Fran is a bit too hard line in his position (but it's another example of just how polarizing Peterson has become). Peterson deserves a second chance (as does Ray Rice) but I think it would be best for both the Vikings and Peterson to have a clean break. Vikings need to move on from Adrian Peterson. Let him reclaim whatever is left of his career somewhere else.

If Peterson is reinstated in the next few days I hope the Vikings release him outright. His contract makes him un-tradeable. The worst thing the Vikings could do is to bring him back on the team only to release him before free agency begins next year. The Wilfs need to make a firm decision and stick with it instead of floating trial balloons like they did the last time. The Wilfs aren't going to make this decision on principle; they'll make it based on how they think it affects their ability to sell PSLs.

Say what?!?! I get where you're coming from from a 'clean break' standpoint, but totally disagree on releasing him outright if reinstated & it being the worst case if he's released at free agency.

Overall, I think there will be overwhelming support of him if he were to play in that final home game vs Chicago. Let's face it, being a Viking fan has sucked this year. My heart strings have been tugged on in places I didn't know a game of football could reach with this subject, but maybe reinstating him & seeing what this young offense can do with our centerpiece RB might spark em & build on something for next year & beyond. What's the damage in playing him these last 2-3 games that hasn't already been done leading up to this point? The option for the team & AP to go there seperate ways in the offseason will still be on the table regardless.

I blame Ray Rice for a lot of this. Adrian's situation was made worse by Rice's to begin with, and in this case even the decision was delayed because Vincent had to testify in the Rice case before he could testify for Peterson's. The two cases are unfortunately intertwined.
