Here's a link to an excellent read that covers Key legal issues in Adrian Peterson's suspension appeal hearing.

"Henderson wants Vincent to testify because, according to USA Today's Tom Pelissero, Peterson recorded the conversations between Vincent and himself when he became suspicious of Vincent's motives. Per the story, Vincent told Peterson he'd only miss two game checks and his time on the Commissioner's Exempt list would count as 'time served."

"We believe [Vincent] told him [Peterson] something to the effect of his time on the commissioner's list would be contributed to time served. We'll find out," Atallah said, via ESPN.com"

Apparently, Henderson has encouraged the parties to settle. And that is the only way Vincent can avoid testifying. We shall see...

The NFL has already won. We're basically fighting to see what kind of flexibility we have with Peterson in the offseason now.

According to the article, there is little for Peterson to do legally if Henderson's ruling goes against him. Minnesota courts are unlikely to call for a temporary restraining order and the Federal courts rarely reverse an arbitration award. He will have to sit tight until April 15th, 2015 -- unless Henderson rules otherwise.

That also mentions the possibility of a settlement. I am intrigued by this, as I haven't heard of a settlement even entering into the conversation of an NFL appeal before. Have any of you seen this previously? And what conclusions do you think can be drawn from this being brought up?

http://blog.startribune.com/sports/acce ... settlement
During yesterday’s appeals hearing for suspended running back Adrian Peterson, arbitrator Harold Henderson encouraged the NFL and the NFLPA to engage in settlement discussions, according to a Pro Football Talk report. There have been no talks as of yet, though, according to the report.
The Pro Football Talk report also said that settlement talks could begin as early as today.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed down the suspension last month, but Henderson now has the power to uphold it, reduce it or vacate it all together — unless there is indeed a settlement.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a settlement reached whatsoever. The fact Vincent is testifying doesn't bode well for the NFL.

What happens if there is a settlement?
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." ‪#‎SKOL2018

Hopefully they do what they should have done in the first place. Give him credit for games missed. Fine him the salary. And reinstate him. Like the NBA did in a domestic assault case...I've been a fan of Goodell cracking down on players and their BS. But how many times can he bungle it before he realizes he should just hand this off to *anyone* and clean his hands of the entire mess...

I guess maybe when they can use it to pressure the players to play another game or two...
