I was at the game yesterday - what a crazy game! That game was one of the best games I have ever attended in person outside of the Favre to Greg Lewis finish. Yesterday's game was the first game I got to attend this year, but I couldn't have been happier with the result.

It was pretty slow in the first half, save for Cordarrelle Patterson's amazing TD run. That second half and overtime however? Absolutely ridiculous. I was in absolute shock when the Vikings converted the 4th down on their own 8 yard line in regulation. In overtime, when the fireworks went off and there was a penalty all of us inside the dome were stunned. I think we were even more stunned when Robbie Gould missed that 48 yard FG. I told my dad before he kicked that he never misses, but wouldn't be something if he did? Sure enough, Gould missed. It was too bad there were no fireworks left when Blair finally won the game, but we won. That was a great way to send off the last time we will play Chicago in the Metrodome.

Hell of a game, fellas. Watched the whole 3-hour broadcast. Was rooting for your Vikes the whole time and didn't even feel dirty about it, lol.

how did ashlon jeffery get 249 yards? i didn't see the match, and i was wondering if anyone had an opinion about whether it was more bad coverage or his performance - seems like that alone would indicate the vikes losing this game by a mile, but you know....

Cook sucks and Jeffery is good.

And the only thing that stopped the bleeding was Cook getting himself ejected from the game and then Sherels did a decent job on him the rest of the way. Otherwise Frazier would have just let him set the NFL record on him.

old boy is a keeper, don't you think?

the bears mst have been thinking "man, what did we do that they give Peterson a career-high 35 carries?"

Simpson dropped his only redzone target he's had in the two seasons he's been here. Perfectly placed ball by Simpson. The TD pass from Cassel to Jennings is why you get a broham like Jennings. Put the team on your back dooo

Here's a link to a little breakdown of Patterson's return on Gould's missed FG at the end of regulation last Sunday:

Looks like the Vikings ST blockers were getting the wall formed. Too bad Patterson made the mistake.

At the same time, it's cool that Patterson acknowledges the mistake and is learning from it.

I don't think there's much to be learned from that. I'll bet similar mistakes are made by returners on a significant number of kickoff returns. "Oops, if I had only cut left at that point right there, after that block." Yeah, but you didn't. You didn't see it, you didn't feel it, and it's not likely that this experience will make the next time any more productive. Patterson has great natural ability, but he won't guess right every time.

Very cool to see, we almost had a big one there. I love Patterson's attitude too, it really tells me he's gonna focus on getting better however he can!

what is the point of this post? Are you seriously comparing the two?

And? Would that be crazy? Williamson went 7th overall. Had 3 years of NCAA ball. I'm sure people in '05 asked the same when someone compared Williamson to some previous guy. Have you seen something out of Patterson other than returns and a run that makes you think he's the future at the WR position? He still looks likes a HB playing WR. Is he going to get better? Who knows. Sure he could be a pro bowler, he could also be a 3 year out of the league bum. Comparing? Patterson can barely run routes, can barely get open, and can barely catch the ball. So yeah, I'm comparing the two....

No, not crazy. Just stupid.
