Indigenous people do have certain rights extended to them that other non-native people do not. I'm not positive on the criteria but I think it has to do with preserving traditional practices. As an example, I know Eskimos in Alaska can hunt seals whereas others cannot, same with whales.

It's been years since I was up on these matters, but I remember back in the day that there were some ways in which Native Americans were not held to the same restrictions: larger limits (if any) and fewer (or no) restrictions on methods (like netting, spearing etc.).

Addendum: I am from North Iowa, yes, it's not Minnesota, but I do not remember Indian discounts, nor does my Dad.
Addendum II: Also, I did not, nor do I currently live like an American Indian. I was a mix of Bobby and Peter Brady growing up, loving the Vikes, Bowie/Cooper/KISS, watching Gilligan's Island and riding my bike.

Meaning whales can hunt seals or eskimos can hunt whales?

It's funny how worlds collide. I've spent the entire day drawing beings from Inuit mythology and then here, on a football message board, you mention eskimos!

And I think playing the Raiders makes a big difference as well.

I made that post before the Raider pre season win if that is what you meant. I put zero stock in pre season outcomes. What I was saying was, we have the talent here to grow into a competitive outfit. And I bet we have as many 1st rounders as anyone. And some are damn fine players. As I said that talent needs to grow up and step up, you don't need elite players everywhere just at a few key spots, and solid guys to fill in the holes combined with a few nuts and bolts types.

Those reasons all make sense to me.

I've never caught a muskie. I haven't had a chance to go fishing in years but back when I did, the lakes we fished in didn't have muskies. i caught northern, bass, lots of bluegills, perch and crappies and even some bullheads but never a muskie! Have you ever landed a really big one?

I had several in my boat last year that topped 49", but not one that broke the magic 50" barrier. Lots of fish in the 40"-46" range.

I like the Vikings, but I LOVE fishing. One of the coolest things about the Twin Cities is having so many high quality musky lakes in your back yard.

I can imagine... it must be great.

The defense seems more intense but I'm not convinced we're anything special. Greenway and whoever will play MLB will be suspect.
