It would be excellent if Shazier were still around at #40. It isn't often there's a 6'1, 235 lb ILB with 4.4 speed, and I think the Ravens could definitely pick him as their Ray Lewis replacement.S197 wrote:Sua-Filo is getting a lot of attention recently (and I think he'll be a good guard) but it seems like Yankey has dropped in some of the mocks. I think he's the best guard in the class and would be a good 2nd round pick. He's an athletic type player that I think fits well between Kalil and Sullivan. With the overall draft being so strong in the top 40, the Vikings should have solid 2nd round options. I can see guys like Yankey, Van Noy, and even possibly guys like Shazier and Verrett still around. Carr might be another.

I would be shocked if we didn't draft a guard by the end of round 3. Absolutely shocked. We have a hole at that position that is positively gaping, and quality guards are often available in the middle of a draft. Of course, this year could be an exception where there are so many strong players still around in round 3 and none are guards, but if that doesn't happen, we'll take a guard and he'll be expected to start by September 2015 if not earlier.
