Looks like Demi is going to be one happy guy, PH prolly will ask too much, and someone other then the Vikes know that hes worth it, esp. a team with a real QB.
And yet all we hear is how little teams are willing to give up *because* of his demands, along with his other issues. If this was as cut and dry as people want to believe based solely on his talent, there'd be a lot more talk then the occasional third round pick. And the market would be there. The Vikings are stuck, they have a toxic player that every other team in the league knows is toxic, and they have to do their best now to pretend he isn't. Good luck. Either way they get burned.
Guess Childress really was onto something when he took that trip.
Wow, so over the top it is unreal Harvin has been soooo toxic and I guess we all know that the Vikings would be lucky to even get a 3rd round pick for this dispicable player
The truth is probably closer to that Harvin is one of the best all around offensive weapons in the NFL and he wants to get paid like it. Not one rumor has been substantiated and so none of us have first hand knowledge of anything that has already transpired. Unnamed sources blah blah blah.
If it is true that he does not want to play here and a deal can not be struck to both sides satisfaction, then as I said before trade him. I imagine that the Vikes would do better than a 3rd round pick but lets save this post and see.

Maybe a little too "all around". He's certainly a jack of all trades, but ultimately he's really only a master slot receiver and kick returner. Whatever happens, it will be interesting to watch and see whether the Vikings or anyone else values Harvin as much as Harvin values Harvin.

I think Harvin would/could be a thousand yard rusher if he was used in that capacity. His abilities are seemingly limitless.

Sure, but at his size for how long and what would his YPC be as an every play running back? You could say the same thing of many NFL receivers, but the reason they're receivers in the first place is that few are built to be running backs, their talents are more valued as receivers, and it's a much more attractive position for the player, with typically longer careers and bigger paychecks.
Percy is very talented, but as I've said before, capitalizing on those talents has proven to be surprisingly challenging.

Don't think so. He's got the ability, but at 185 pounds, you can't give him the ball the 200-250 times he'd need for 1,000 yards without getting him killed -- especially with the way he plays, which is fearless bordering on reckless.
Harvin's a slot receiver. Put him on New England, and he's Wes Welker times three. But on the Vikings, he needs help.

I think a better fit would be on one of those read option teams. He has experience, and wouldn't take quite the beating even though he's lined up in the backfield. 49ers, Redskins etc. But he is going to contribute no matter where he goes. Let's hope he goes somewhere with something nice to send back!

I do not agree, so name me another wr that would be a good 1000 yd. running back. Harvin is a 190 lbs of pure muscle and I have seen him rushing the ball in college and the pros and he is explosive and elusive (although it is a moot argument because it won't happen) but he would be a great running back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZGneG7UMZY
God, its amasing how Vikings fans can turn on a Viking player. At one time this year some were thinking he could be MVP. he did ANYTHING the Vikings asked of him, but yeah, lets kick him under the buss. Amasing. No wonder he wants out with fans like these. From prasing him to wishing him gone all in inder a year. How fickle. I know now PH prolly will be gone, but we are losing a star. And then the #### can really star about Ponder having no weapons.

Because some of them say Harvin wouldn't make a great running back? LOL! That's rich.
No because theres post after post about PH, most of them negative. And yeah, if the Vikes asked PH to be a RB, there is no doubt in my mind he would put up 1000 yrds. Hes an amasing athelete. But dont worry about it, he will be sitting or gone next year, so you can #### about that.

Because the fans "turned" on him, right?
I don't see a lot of negativity above. I think that fans, like Mothman said, have just been so beaten over the head with these rumored stories of Harvin's attitude problems, that they can't help but think there's some truth to them.
Like many others, I don't give a #### any more. If he remains with the Vikings, I expect him to behave like a professional and nothing more.
I don't think that Harvin is leaving. No WR in FA. No WR with the 1st rd pick. Don't be disappointed if this is the way if falls. I won't be if it doesn't.
Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter

Are you PH in disguise, because you're just about as temperamental as he is.
Either way, it doesn't look like the Vikings are going to be in the running for Mike Wallace; it sounds like that's all but wrapped up with Miami. Greg Jennings is the second option, but I definitely wouldn't give him 10 mil a year. The Vikings are going to need to do something with PH though. He's a free agent next year and if he really doesn't want to be in Minnesota he's going to leave. On the flip side, if PH gets hurt again this year he's really going to diminish his value in free agency next year and he definitely won't get the money that he's looking for. I'm still think if you can get a late first early second for him, just get rid of him and completely rebuild the WR corps.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the "league-wide expectation" is that free agent Mike Wallace will sign with the Dolphins.
USA Today reports the Dolphins officially contacted Wallace's agent over the weekend, while SI's Peter King "hears" they don't have "much, if any" big-money competition for the soon-to-be former Steeler. Wallace-to-Miami has become a runaway freight train, but other suitors are still likely to emerge between now and Tuesday's 4ET start of free agency. Few clubs can match Miami's combination of need, money and desperation, however. Rotoworld's own Evan Silva expects Wallace to end up with the Dolphins via a five-year, $60 million deal. --- Mike Wallace - WR - Steelers
The Palm Beach Post hears from "someone (it) trusts" that free agent Mike Wallace to Miami is a "done deal."
ESPN, Sports Illustrated and USA Today have all insinuated as such over the past 24 hours, making the evidence that Wallace is planning to take his talents to South Beach overwhelming. Wallace's rep could drag talks out on Tuesday for the sake of squeezing a few extra dimes out of an obviously desperate team, but it doesn't appear anyone else has near the desire level to get a deal done.
