Defense played very well on the road. Good enough to win.

That is a classic Vikings loss. Classic. What an absolute torture it is to be born into fandom for this f'n team.
This sums up my feelings.

Oh, I agree.

But the coaches and FO will take this line of argument.

By a landslide compared to other players or units, the bulk of this loss is on Ponder.

I don't know how you can argue that with a straight face.

In over five decades there's only been 7 games where a rb has over 200 yards and lost.

Frazier is just not a coach. Maybe we should hire Chip Kelly. give him a blank check! That Oregon offense would be the greatest thing ever with Webb AP and Harvin. O..M...G :burp:

Something smells. AD ran for 210 and Ponder passed for 2-digits again. I am sorry, but ALL other NFL QBs would be on the bench by now. This is not fixable, excusable, or acceptable. In the last few weeks the team has lost games they might have won with Webb at QB. It is indisputable. Sub 100-yd passing games are once in a decade event and we have too many.

Crax wrote:Sure, but giving up 23 points to green bay isn't terrible. Our defense has also gotten two turnovers. No defense is fantastic, but 23 points puts you in the position to win against green bay due to green bays defense being nothing special(except against the vikings)
It's not just the points allowed, it's the TOP, the long drives allowed, etc. I'm not trying to take the heat off Ponder. He deserves it. It just drives me nuts when people try to lay the blame for a loss on one player. It always has because football is a team game.

Mothman wrote: The point is that there is no reason a game is lost. There are reasons. It's always that way, in every game. You can say the 10 points allowed early aren't the reason the Vikes are going to lose this game but right now, GB is leading by 9 points. Take those 10 points off the board and who is winning?

They all count, John, whether they're scored in the first or the 4th.
You're rationalizing. Better QB play means longer, more effective drives with points scored at the end of them (versus INTs). More rest for the defense. Fewer emotionally-deflating plays.

PurpleKoolaid wrote:At least Ponder got to pad his stats with the prevent D there.
Yes, he padded them all the way to:
9/21 for 92 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT's
6/12 3rd down efficiency

Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers:
27/35 for 286, 1 TD, 1 INT
9/15 3rd down efficiency

What a waste of a monster game by AD: 21 carries for 210 yds, 1 TD
