Don't forget the scoring drive to force KC to score a TD. Both offense and defense were clutch in the end.S197 wrote:I figured it would be low scoring, defensive battle. Kudos to the defense for the big 4th and 1 stop and also a key turnover. They also held at the end of the game, remember when that wasn't the case? Really other than the screen TD the defense played lights out today. I think Captain deserves special mention as he had himself a great game when coming into the season it looked as though he might not even be the starter.
Offensively, clearly there are issues and it starts with the line. Teddy also needs to take care of the ball better, the 2nd interception was a nice read by Peters but the first when you are in the position to get points is inexcusable. Still, we may have a player in Diggs and that's something promising. Could we actually have depth at WR when Johnson returns??
Win is a win, ugly as it was.
Thanks for mentioning this, I just flipped it back on. Good game.soflavike wrote: I spoke too soon... Bears are in FG range... OT maybe.
Your harping about negativity is sounding very negative.frosted wrote: Haha yep . Wonder if we'll see a thread about it - "Sick of Actual Victories" - grr
But you DID beat the Chiefs. Smile! Wins are Wins.jackal wrote:Its safe to say we need to play better the next two weeks..
If we can't beat teams we should ...were not a good team yet
We beat the Chiefs, the Lions and the Chargers... not exactly a bunch of playoff contenders. But, we'll take it!Jordysghost wrote: But you DID beat the Chiefs. Smile! Wins are Wins.
I don't know. I saw a lot of poor execution too. Poor passes, poor blocking, drops.jackal wrote: The OC play calling was terrible .. like watching a Monkey get his hand stuck not letting go
of an object behind a hole in fence.. just stupid
I think we were watching different games today. Teddy looked nothing like Alex Smith today. Teddy was throwing tons of intermediate passes and even a couple back shoulder passes. He was stopped moreso from conservative play calling in the second half and a few drops rather than his own wrong-doings. Smith barely attempted a pass longer than 7 yards today.Pondering Her Percy wrote:People are actually blaming Norv Turner for Teddy's play? I didn't agree with some of his calls either but Norv isn't the one out there throwing the ball. Teddy looked like a version of the guy that was playing across from him today (Alex Smith). He can't stop turning the ball over, and can't execute when we need him to. It drives me crazy that some on here come up with every excuse in the book to say why we played bad but refuse to blame Teddy. He nearly cost us that game. Period. He needs to find a way to play better. Because I want more than a game manager and that's all he is right now
Agreed. I thought he played pretty well despite the picks.TSonn wrote: I think we were watching different games today. Teddy looked nothing like Alex Smith today. I agree that Teddy shouldn't have thrown that first INT but other than that, I think Teddy played a really solid game.
The overthrown bootleg on 3rd and two. Even the 2nd int was a poor throw. He made some plays too like the 3rd and long to Diggs but I saw too many missed opportunities to call his performance solid.TSonn wrote: I think we were watching different games today.
