OK, Stephen has look OK at best as a rotational DT
Kearse looked absolutely lost when he played last year. He made Sendejo look like Ronnie Lott
Robinson, maybe he might be OK depth. But you can get starters in the 4th, better than OK depth
So you are writing off Kearse after his rookie season. He has a very high ceiling and has a great chance to develop into a decent player (and he played okay when pressed into duty last year even though he wasn't ready).
Stephen was a great find at DT. The coaching staff loves him and thank god we had him to start at 3tech last year when Sharrif went down (even though 3tech isn't his position).

Cant improve speed and his tendency to get dominated when blocked. Hes not a good pick

Seriously, EVERY year there are guys talked about on this board that slide and slide and slide and yet all the professional GM's are passing on them but its just rick who's an idiot.
Sigh.
And every year we dont win the Super Bowl. Until we do, i reserve the right to say this is #### stupid.

we seem to be thinking alike these days. Yeah lots of talent at the bottom. Who the #@$% trades down in the 2nd-7th round? Talent begins to get thin in the 2nd round.

Also every year Ricj drafts 5 7th rounders most are cut and become life members of the PS. A team that trade a way a 1st because we were so close to the SB is now stockpiling 7ths. Logically its makes 0 sense.

Of course I'm not writing off Kearse. I'm just not heralding him as a huge "diamond in the rough" found by Crafty Spielman in the 7th. Because he hasn't shown that yet.

all this talk about how bad our line is, and we took one player to address the line? why did we go out and sign a running back with a lot of potential and draft a running back with our first pick? (and traded up to do so). it really seems like these guys have no plan they just make stuff up as they go.

I'd have drafted Dorian Johnson, Siragusa, or Julie'n Davenport, myself.
I think with where our roster is at, it is a bad strategic move. It is OK that you have a different opinion, though.

Johnson (#115), Siragusa (#122) and Davenport (#130) were all off the board at #139.

I'm a little surprised they didn't take Kaaya. Seems like they were looking at him pre draft.

The third round pick we dealt was 86. We also owned 104, 109, & 132 at various points!

With the exception of actually drafting an offensive lineman within the first 2 days, this is shaping up to be a pretty typical Rick Spielman draft.
