Didnt you not like Wright at all??PurpleKoolaid wrote:And we have the speed guys now with Johnson and wright. We need another good hands, route runner, like Jennings, as a wide out. Then we compete for our division.

He was calling the play by play on Teddy/Wright TD to Mike Max. Its was really funny, not sure if WCCO has that taped.frosted wrote: Missed it, what was he doing haha?

Re: Jets @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 14
Guys... I thought Wright was expendable after training camp as the final roster cut downs were looming, not as a result of one bad game, but in terms of what we needed from our WR's. I wanted someone with more size... like Johnson. Wright has not been a huge contributor this season. I'm thrilled he made some plays today and I hope he makes some more, but he isn't exactly rocking the league.mmvikes wrote: It seems after every game there are a couple of guys a who want someone cut and proclaim said player to be garbage. During the game I understand. We all get pretty emotional.

I haven't for a few years, because he didn't seem to run good routes, despite getting off the line. But he really makes the most out of the balls thrown his way. And when Jennings goes (which I hope wont be too soon) he would make an awesome slot receiver.Pondering Her Percy wrote: Didnt you not like Wright at all??

Yes he is, a cool hand. Nice for a change to have a QB that can think his way through.A.D_blazing wrote:

I have been a Wright fan, but even I wasn't/am not sure if he was/is ever going to become a regular contributor. He definitely has ability he flashes, but he can easily disappear as well.
To be fair, Wright was a fourth round pick. It is not like he was a first rounder or second rounder. Fourth rounders don't always stick. It is not surprising some were skeptical of him and still are.

That isn't who he is. He's never going to be a #1 or #2 making thousand yard seasons.soflavike wrote:Guys... He's a #3 or #4 who disappears if he's in all game, but if he rotates in fresh, he tends to make the most of his opportunities and make something happen. I've always really liked him, really liked the depth he adds to the team, but its only this season where I think he could even be #3 and be in on a lot of snaps.

Re: Jets @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 14
wright is what he is: a solid third receiver. he is small, but shifty and gets the job done when he gets targeted. just think if we had been able to stop a 4th and 20 against buffalo we would be 7-6. this team has exceeded my expectations this year and i think its safe to say we have found our qb.
Re: Jets @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 14
Teddy has two I think. Dante had 3 with 4 game winning drives... In his 1st year as a startermmvikes wrote:How many come from behind wins does Teddy have now? He already has more than Culpepper ever had in his whole career. If the game was on the line Pepps little hands were going to fumble.
Re: Jets @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 14
Teddy has three 4th quarter comebacks this season (ATL, TB, WAS). That did not change today

Re: Jets @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 14
I think so. Probably because you're confabulating garbage about Culpepper, which doesn't make sense. Not in this thread and not at all.mmvikes wrote: Was that me who got you banging your head off the wall Jim?
FWIW, Pep had 11 come from behind wins and 17 game winning drives.
It would be great if Teddy tops that!

It wasn't any single person or post. I was just in a happy, excited mood, ready to celebrate an exciting win and I was disappointed with what I encountered. That's my problem. People should post about the Vikings as they wish, as long as they stay within board rules. I'm not judging anyone, I was just frustrated in the moment...mmvikes wrote: Was that me who got you banging your head off the wall Jim?

Culpepper would have had a few more on his resumé if the team was able to play defense during some of those years.
