Does the above make any sense? Sounds like he was told when asked say this.
Not sure it makes sense but it is worrying that McCarthy can't stay on the field. Hard to evaluate his potential or for him to show progression if he can't play due to injury.
I just read that Pro Football Focus has Ingram rated as the #1 overall guard in the NFL right now. I'm not sure how they arrive at those rankings but based on what we saw out of him when he was with the Vikings that was an eye-opener as he was repeatedly one of the worst guards as ranked by the same.
I am not sure what PFF is seeing, but nothing with Ed has changed:
I saw that play. Ingram just got out of the way and let the DT have a free run at the QB. Maybe PFF just thought to ignore it instead of including it in their grade. Like it didn't happen.

That's true. He'll get a new contract for next season. That will give the true story. If he's good he will be paid good.

Drake Maye has turned in a very good season so far after his growth year. For some he's taken the lead of the 2024 class. Darnold is averaging 9.6 yards per attempt. That's what I like to see. Him and Lamar are the only 2 above 9. Not bad for an average of 33 million a year. Mayfield is another bargain. Another guy who took more than 2 years to find his game. It is possible. The lame Browns dumped him along with the lame Panthers who also dumped Sammy. Not exactly the smartest teams out there.

Browns are the dumbest franchise in the NFL bar none, no other team comes close to it

That is a game, possibly season changing play if it allows the QB to get hurt or causes a fumble. Ingram had 2 more game changing plays last night with two penalties, and is quickly dropping in PFF grade after a couple of good games had the grade inflated.
You can't have your RG making plays like that.

I tuned that game in for a little bit just to watch Darnold. His second TD throw was a thing of beauty. Rusher coming at him and he threw a thread the needle pass for a TD. We don't have a guy on our roster that can do that. I also checked out Ingram on replays and most of the time he was on the ground. Texans OL can't hold the point and gets push backwards. Stroud will have a tough time with that.
