I think the biggest factor in this game is, can our DBs keep their WRs, from racking up big numbers. +300 yards numbers.

The biggest factor will be AD. And it feels good to say that. He he looks in great shape (other then dropping the damn bacll) and I think i saw the Oline open up some lanes for AD, just the good 5-10 yard lanes. AD turns those into TDs.

Our D has some bend in it, not a lot of break. It also has a good HC that knows how to make adjustments. We will ne well disguised blitzes. Luckily we have the timeless one in Greenway. Theres a guy with hear. I hope he has a huge picture at the new stadium. Not the fastest guy on the block, but smart and can tackle.

Now the bad. Its a road game....

Might as well post this here as it relates to Teddy Vs. Carr. The entire thing is pretty interesting so give it a full read here: http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikin ... -more-wins
Pressure rate: Bridgewater 30.2 percent of dropbacks; Carr 22.7.

If you're looking to make a case for why Carr has been the more prolific passer this season, this would be the place to start: According to ESPN Stats and Information, he's been pressured on fewer dropbacks than any quarterback in the NFL this season. Bridgewater, on the other hand, is 26th. Part of that could be on the quarterback -- Bridgewater is holding the ball longer than any quarterback in the league this year, while Carr is unloading it quicker than all but five. Carr has often been praised for his quick release, but the Raiders are doing a solid job of giving him quick places to throw the ball while protecting him well enough that he can make plays. When Bridgewater has spent as much time running for his life, it's tough to expect him to make plays consistently.

Based on what I read, the Raiders seem to be transitioning into a 3-4 defense (?) (anyone confirm this?) which makes sense with Mack and Aldon Smith lining up where they can do the most damage at OLB. I'm expecting to see more of that inverted Wishbone we saw run so effectively against Chicago's 3-4.

I haven't watched the Raiders yet this year but I think there is a real chance that this becomes a statement game for the Vikings. The Raiders are favorites, Home team, West Coach, Outdoors, Afternoon game...There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical based on Vikings precedent, but I think Zimmer might start to run low on bulletin board material after this one (They say we can't win a game that starts at 3 central against a team that wears silver and black if the wind is blowing over 6 miles an hour and the vegas odds are against us! Whatta you say to that men?").

Yes i believe so.. There main pass rushes are Aldon Smith (ex 49er) and Mack one of the best players in the NFL iMO

They play more man to man in the secondary than zone from what I have seen. Their OL is better than ours
and Amari Cooper looks incredible can run every route and has a very fast burst of speed. Rod Streeter is a decent
option. IMO they are pretty close to being an very good team.. need a few more pieces.

Thanks for the link.

Goessling makes a valiant effort to keep the comparison between the two QBs close but this season, it's no contest. Carr has clearly been the superior player. Whether that holds true over the long haul is anybody's guess. Hopefully, Bridgewater will get the best of this week's matchup!

I still don't get the hype for Khalil Mack but I haven't watched him since last year. I think people just like his name and his measurables. He made the most of stunts and line games in college but didn't win often against his man. I'd take Anthony Barr every time.

Why not? Couldn't hurt.
@mattvensel The #Vikings have changed up their West Coast routine after their season-opening dud in San Francisco. http://strib.mn/1iXurnF

carr has 19 touchdowns to teddy's 6 and you guys are debating what it will take to win? i say its simple; for our qb to start living up to expectations. without the type of defensive play we've had this team would be 2-6. bridgewater can't continue to play 1 good game followed by 2 or even 3 bad ones.

I'm assuming they opted for it over the Detroit/GB game because Detroit's been so bad. Maybe they see OAK vs. MN as a more interesting, competitive matchup. Whatever the reason, I'm happy!
Which will be funny a hell if the Lions beat the Packers

So glad I have an alternative for watching games here in Hawaii. Carolina vs Tennessee? I'd be punching walls if it weren't for Gamepass.
Scuba diving sounds like a nice alternative 8)

Hello Vikes Fans,

Raider fan here, been lurking all week awaiting account activation. I don't normally talk smalk, I just come to talk football. (I come in peace :D )

Now my thoughts on the game.

The Vikes D has been good, and the O has been so-so

The Raiders O has been good (7th) and the D has been terrible (had a few good games)

Which weakness makes more plays? We shredded the #2 defense in the league, so We will score points. Stopping you from scoring is what concerns me.

I think Oakland wins 34-28

Seems like a cool dude.

Del Rio Presser
He does seem very grounded and very likable. I think if we don't let them jump out to a big early lead it will be a close game but if they get a couple of quick scores and we start slow like we have been it could be a long day.
