I definately agree and would love it if he not only made the team but developed and became the starter if Ponder does not improve this year. The Breeze wrote: MBT is the kind of guy you want on your team, especially @ at QB. Whether he has the ability or not remains to be seen.

Do not mistake KINDNESS for WEAKNESS!

As much as I like that article, and MBT's attitude, 2 guys without the ability at the QB spot is enough for now.The Breeze wrote: MBT is the kind of guy you want on your team, especially @ at QB. Whether he has the ability or not remains to be seen.

Re: Second and Third Quarterback
After looking at them all in preseason, I would keep two QB's: Ponder and MBT. Let Webb be emergency QB. Ponder and Cassel looked awful, but you can't get rid of both.

Or Carson Palmer, or Vince Young, or Joe Kapp. They're all better than our QB's.PurpleHalo wrote:Why didn't this team bring in Ryan Fitzpatrick, he's better than any QB on this teams roster. Guranteed playoffs if he was starting, currently there is no assurance of that happening.

KC to MN
As a Chief, I have to say Cassel was not the best QB we've had in recent years. However, I will say the guy is a great locker room leader. He also is a class guy. He is a genuine fella that what you see is what you get.
From our point of view here in Kansas City, he did have a lot of different coaches and offenses. I remember one game in particular, from our seats, we could see Him yelling at Haley on the sidelines. Haley was NOTORIOUS for dipping his hands into all the offensive play calls. The guy had to relearn new offenses every year.
I really think the change of scenery was good for Cassel. Once he gets settled, I think he will work out for you guys. He had JC and can equate that to having Peterson. Just my point of view, but I see him as a better QB than Ponder. But that's just from what i've seen.

Gus was better than TJoke and still got the bench. Rosenfels was better than TJoke/Ponder and still got the bench. We'll bring in veterans to fill some positions, but stubbornly force inferior players who aren't asked to earn their job at others (QB...again and again)
I doubt Cassel will get a chance to settle here either...but maybe once Ponder flames out this year he can be a year or two stop gap guy to at least keep the team a little competitive while they find the next guy.
