I liked Hovan quite a lot, too. He was studly!

I don't know about that. He was undersized, sure, but he always gave 100%. Kind of a 'poor man's John Randle' is the way I remember him.

Tommy Hannon was a rising star in the late 70's he was a big hitter before Browner came but in juries ruined a budding career .

As I remember, he tried too hard to be just like John Randle. Eyeblack and all. I think the most sacks he had in a season was 5.
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps.

There's too many. I really liked Brian Russell when he was here too.

I had totally forgotten about him until my friend told me of a trivia question about a former Seahawk who is "the white saftey along side Deon Grant in Jacksonville."

Jack Del Rio
Rich Gannon

Both went on to more fame but I loved them when they were Vikings!

Rich Gannon peaked super late in his career. At least, much later than the norm.

Checked Pro-Football Reference. He had 6 (5.5 in another year). 22 sacks in his 10 year career, so you can do the math. In his 5 years with MN he had 17 of his 22 sacks, though. Not exactly numbers that I want to argue are "good" but I didn't think he was "terrible".

OTOH Ray Edwards had better stats, so I'll shut up now

Glad to see my non-stars listed already: Orlando Thomas was an incredible free safety. He would easily have made 2nd place among Vikings in interceptions if he hadn't gotten hurt.

My dad and I were big Rick Fenney fans (probably thinking of the days we watched Bill Brown and Dave Osborn play a similar style).

I would list Brad Johnson too, but surely he made a pro-bowl (with Washington?) and won a SuperBowl with Tampa Bay.

Agree with Moe Williams. He should have gotten a lot more carries.
