as far as childs goes, when i see it i'll believe it. this guy ruined both patella's on a routine catch in the end zone. he is one minor injury away from never playing again, and at this point i think its total pipe dreams to think he will have a successful career in the nfl. so what, he has been rehabbing, what else would someone do in his position?

That was my first inclination too. After I listened to an interview of his I gathered that whoever did the surgery on his first injury wasn't quite the caliber of the guy who did the recent ones. It could wind up being like Tommy John surgery where his repaired tendons are structurally stronger than the original.....and that could just be a load of poop too. YMMV

:point: The legend rises, really :?: Wasn't it you or another poster that brought up this crap already  Who has said ANYTHING about Child's miracle "comeback". A lot of us are hoping for the best with his recovery but have no great expectations that I have heard or read about. :wallbang:

Oh yeah just more of the same :spanking:

Another moving piece on Greg Childs attempt to make it back from his injury. http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikin ... 05771.html

I have a ton of respect for him even if he never plays a down in the NFL.

Great read. You have to love the effort and determination.

Has anyone heard anything recently about Childs' status or any plans to remove him from the PUP list?

Last I heard there really wasn't a timetable for him.

Do not recall where I read this, but both Spielman and Frasier have indicated to Childs that they plan to be patient. How long that lasts, no idea, but my guess is he will at least be in training camp in 2014. (not a TYPO)

Probably going to be on it the first 6 weeks again. We have plenty of wideouts no need to rush him.

Greg Childs - WR - Vikings

Vikings placed WR Greg Childs on reserve/PUP.

Childs sustained patellar tears in each of his knees a year ago and still hasn't returned to practice. He'll miss at least the first six weeks. Given the severity of his injury coupled with a right patellar tear in college, Childs is a longshot to ever make an impact for the Vikings.
