This year, more than others, there seems to be no dominant team in the NFL. AZ is probably the best overall squad, but we played them to the wire. As a fan this is the first season I can recall since 2009 where I feel like we can have a shot to win any game we are in. That doesn't mean we'll win it all, against a team like AZ or SEA or CAR we'll need to not just play at a high level, but also make a few extra plays to win, so we are an outside contender. What makes it fun though is the simple fact that as a fan I feel like it is actually possible and not just the purple kool-aid. That for me has been the best part of this season. Definitely my favorite Vikings team since 2009.

2009 was special year for me as I watched every game with my newborn son and the pass by Favre to Greg Lewis against SF remains to this day the greatest play I've ever seen. That play is also why I can never hate on Favre the way Jim does.

For whatever the reason, Bridgewater has been one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in the month of December. His passer rating of 107.9 in December over the last two years is third best in the NFL, the Vikings say.

And he’s been especially hot over the last three games, completing 70.4 percent of his passes for 734 yards, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions.

Note that Bridgewater threw the pass to Rudolph before Rudolph turned to look for it (yes, folks, that really does happen on some successful NFL passing plays!).

We finally have coaching good enough to help overcome some talent gaps. And a team with a pretty clear picture of what needs to be done going forward. I don't think Teddy will ever be an elite QB and won't be able to boost the team around him like some elite QBs can do in this league, but I think he's good enough to succeed if they surround him with some better talent, unlike the two hand picked "franchise" QBs before him.

Win or lose the rest of the way, it's still clearly a successful season and there's a lot of reason to FINALLY feel better about the direction this team is in. (I won't say the QB quite yet, remember his last December and then some of his play earlier this season!)
