Cowboys signed a fullback.......
I don't know, with some smart drafting and signings this could be a team that has the right pieces in 2016. We all know Peterson isn't built like other running backs. It's more than possible his production in 2016-2017, even if it slips a bit, is still lethal enough to be a considerable asset, and one that helps us win a lot of games. So he doesn't rush for 2,000 yards and 20 TDs. 1,300-1,500 yards and 10 TDs is still elite RB territory. I'd still probably take a 31 year-old Peterson over most other running backs at that point. YMMV.IrishViking wrote:Depends on your definition of Good or Bad. At this point I'll be a little sad if we don't nab a late first for him. Even if he stays. I don't see him putting us over the edge this year. Or the next. Or the next. He's gonna get older and slower each year and I think this is our last chance to get really great value for him.
I think Dallas may be a little desperate due to the Murray thing. They lowballed him going into this. Maybe they're not a serious option for AD.IrishViking wrote:
Looking over their message board it seems like they have several running backs that they are interested in.
It'll be another testament to the salesmanship of our GM if Rick manages to pull off a great trade.
How crazy would it be for Tampa to offer up Mike Evans and some late round picks?Pondering Her Percy wrote: Could this be what we're all waiting for??!!! Aggressive plans tells me Spielman could be working them for more than we think and Tampa is willing to do it. Please tell me we could land Lavonte David and picks or a haul of picks!! I'm like a kid in a candy store right now!!
Exactly, plus, if the team is truly capable of competing for a championship at that point, his ability to lift them in particular moments (much as Lynch helped the Seahawks get on track on the NFCC game this year) could be as crucial as his overall production.dead_poet wrote: I don't know, with some smart drafting and signings this could be a team that has the right pieces in 2016. @DarrenWolfson FWIW, source on the report Peterson will have a third meeting with the #Vikings before the week is over: "Not true."

I don't see any point in another face to face unless it's to sign a new deal. I can't imagine they left anything unsaid that couldn't be handled on the phone.Mothman wrote:
