I can't disagree with the final punishment, but sweet Lord, the NFL has handled this brutally.

Do they ever handle anything correct anymore?yezzir wrote:I can't disagree with the final punishment, but sweet Lord, the NFL has handled this brutally.
Sponsors opinion...............Raptorman wrote:The NFL screwed up. They used the illegally leaked information from the grand jury. In the future expect to see anything and everything used to discipline players. The NFL no longer considers what goes on in the courtroom the standard for punishing players. It now considers public opinion the operating force.
You are right about one thing doctor, most Viking fans couldn't care less what happened to AD if he wasn't a Viking BUT he is a Viking player and Viking fans do care, for the most part. That shouldn't be too hard to understand.chicagopurple wrote:The NFL is a BUSINESS.....all of its commercial sponsors (ie income sources) want NOTHING to do with Peterson..he is now toxic.....look at all the PSAs against domestic violence.....AP has dont this to himself....he is no longer a viable commodity... thats all that matters in this very big industry called the NFL. If AP wasnt a Viking, we would all be just fine with this ruling.....
@AlbertBreer -- The NFL and Peterson still waiting on a ruling on the player's grievance. If Peterson wins, he comes off the exempt list.
@AlbertBreer -- So if Peterson wins his grievance, he'll be off the list. And if his case is still in the appeal process, he'd be eligible to play Sunday.
@MasterStrib -- Peterson will meet with a doctor on Dec. 1 to design program of counseling, therapy & possible community service for reinstatement #Vikings
@AlbertBreer -- Key piece of NFLPA statement: "An NFL executive told Adrian that his time on the Commissioner’s list would be considered as time served."
That could be very interesting, especially if that information played a role in AD pleading no contest instead of going to trial. It always seemed weird how he went from claiming he was going to go to trial but then quickly went with the no contest plea deal.dead_poet wrote:
Just speculating, but he probably just wanted it behind him and thought this decision would get him back on the field sooner, especially if he was told his time away would be considered time served.TSonn wrote: That could be very interesting, especially if that information played a role in AD pleading no contest instead of going to trial. @AlbertBreer -- Response from NFL spokesman on Peterson being told time on list would be time served: "There were aggravating circumstances in this case. The time (Peterson) missed on paid leave was taken into account in the discipline.”
@AlbertBreer -- So with the league saying "The time (Peterson) missed on paid leave was taken into account" ... This adds up to a 15-game penalty.
