Nate Burleson predicted the Lions would beat the Eagles. Probably the only media head that did.

Wouldn't touch Ben the rapist. Brady is too old. Vikings would be shopping for a starter in another year or so. Don't like how Stafford crumbles.Skoltastic_Voyage wrote: I'd take stafford, big ben and maybe ryan.
I picked DET, WASH, NE, PIT, and MN in a 5 team parlay and won. $20 got me $260!808vikingsfan wrote:Nate Burleson predicted the Lions would beat the Eagles. Probably the only media head that did.

Especially at home. Judging by the tweets of people in the stadium we might have the loudest venue in the league. I think that gives us some kind of advantage. We just need some linemen outside of Berger/Boone.J. Kapp 11 wrote:This just in ...

Wow! That was fun to watch. Offense, defense, special teams. Houston had no chance.
I thought the line was OK today against a tough front. Bradford didn't get hit that much, and only sacked twice. Not a ton of yards in the running game -- 96 yards isn't terrible, but 2.6 ypc is. That being said, we threw the ball early and built a lead, then sat on it.dead_poet wrote: Especially at home. In reference to the defense:1. People of Earth: It's time to take the Vikings very, very seriously. Mike Zimmer's club marched into Sunday without their starting quarterback (Teddy Bridgewater), running back (Adrian Peterson) and wide receiver (Stefon Diggs). None of it mattered, though, as signal-caller Sam Bradford continued to look like an ideal match for Norv Turner's offense. After directing a pair of precise, surgical touchdown drives to open the game -- marches that showed off Bradford's crisp arm -- the Vikings passer went on to calmly destroy the Texans with a rash of screens, wise throws and pinpoint lobs downfield. Bradford took plenty of shots from Houston's front seven but never flinched, hitting 22 of 30 passes for 271 yards and two scores -- all of this without Diggs in the lineup. This is the finest version of Bradford the NFL community has ever seen and his capable work through five weeks can no longer be ignored.
The Vikings are playing at a Super Bowl-level on this side of the ball and look just as powerful as last year's Broncos. The sky is the limit.
No offense to Bridgewater but after 5 games, it's time to retire this overused line about the Vikings being without their starting QB. It's an easy way for the media to puff up their their accomplishment and make it sound more impressive but they haven't started a backup QB since Hill played in week 1. Bradford IS the starter, at least until next year, and he's always been a starter in the league.4. With Diggs sidelined, Vikings wideout Adam Thielen stepped in to beat Texans cover man Johnathan Joseph for a pretty 36-yard touchdown grab on the opening drive. He never slowed down. While his totals coming into the game -- 13 catches for 145 yards -- were modest, Thielen (7/127/1) on Sunday showed the requisite moves and athleticism to get open in coverage. Fellow Vikings wideout Cordarrelle Patterson (4/39/1) also made a genuine difference and showed a willingness to lower his shoulder and plow through enemy defensive backs.

I think it still matters from the stories perspective though, because you don't typically trade for a QB in season and have success. Can anybody think of another team who did so and had success? Can you think of one that had the QB come in and play like an All-Pro?Mothman wrote: No offense to Bridgewater but after 5 games, it's time to retire this overused line about the Vikings being without their starting QB. I think it still has merit in the way that it still shows that Bradford got to the team a week before the season started and he's still playing this well.Mothman wrote: No offense to Bridgewater but after 5 games, it's time to retire this overused line about the Vikings being without their starting QB.
