Zimmer definitely looked angry throughout that press conference. I don't blame him. Being an NFL head coach can't be good for your blood pressure.mmvikes wrote: Zimmer looked really p! $$ed thru that whole presser.

Nobody has adjusted like Zimmer has. His defense has been playing unbelievable all year. If anyone I blame Priefer and Banyard. He didnt step up and was shoved back a milePurpleKoolaid wrote: Maybe they were tired, with the heat. They looked lost that second half. And what really burns me is nothing changed. I guess I had higher expectations on Zimmer, and he would adjust as the second half went on, but nothing. ST is so horrible though. There are teams that don't have a blocked FG or a punt for the friggin game winning safety, all season long. We have had 2 in 3 weeks. I need a drink or 10.

However, another solid performance by Teddy. Against a good defense on the road....he brought it. Of course, another INT that wasn't on him but he definitely made strides once again today

Don't forget the usually dependable Cullen Loeffler. That was a god-awful snap that Locke was lucky to pick up. But it cost Locke at least an extra second to get the kick away, which led to the block.Pondering Her Percy wrote:Nobody has adjusted like Zimmer has. Re: Vikings @ Dolphins Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 16
I know everyone wants to blame Loeffler for the block, and I understand it wasn't a good snap because it hit the ground, but can anyone compare the time it took for Locke to get the kick off to any of his previous punts in the game? Just because it bounced doesn't necessarily mean that it took a second longer for it to reach Locke. I suppose Locke bending over to get the ball could have thrown his timing off though.J. Of course it did effect the punt, that was the first one ever that he had blocked. That was all on Loeffer.Purple Reign wrote: I know everyone wants to blame Loeffler for the block, and I understand it wasn't a good snap because it hit the ground, but can anyone compare the time it took for Locke to get the kick off to any of his previous punts in the game? Re: Vikings @ Dolphins Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 16
I still would like to see if there was any difference in how long it took from snap to actual kick. Just because it was the first one he has had blocked doesn't mean it had to be just because the snap hit the ground. It looked like the defender made a good play jumping over the blocker to get his hand on it. I used to be a punter when I played and as long as the snap was handled cleanly, it really didn't matter if the snap hit the ground or not. I'm just curious if anyone has any proof that it took a second longer to get the punt off.Purple bruise wrote:

Re: Vikings @ Dolphins Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 16
Ouch. That was a tough way to end the game. I had to leave right after the Dolphins tied it up so I assummed the Vikings lost in OT when I saw the final score.
Entertaining game. It had a similar feeling like the Ravens game last year. Sure would have been nice to win and try and get to 8-8 to build on for next year. Oh well. I hope they correct whatever issues they had on defense and come out with a good showing against the Bears this week.

Did it have to be a full second longer to effect the punt? The margin for error is pretty slim.Purple Reign wrote:I still would like to see if there was any difference in how long it took from snap to actual kick. I assume it was more than just time, but also a matter of position in terms of both the mechanics of the punt and positioning relative to blocking, etc.frosted wrote: Did it have to be a full second longer to effect the punt? The margin for error is pretty slim.

That blocked punt is on two people: Loeffler and Banyard. That was not on Locke at all. First of all, Locke made a great catch and handled it well and if you watch it again, he got it off fairly quick. Loeffler had a terrible snap and Banyard was driven back a mile and didnt step up into his block like he was suppose to. I know there are a lot of Locke haters on here but just because he had a punt blocked doesn't mean its automatically his faultPurple Reign wrote:

Locke actually looked pretty good yesterday. He did handle the bad snap well. He also had a 60 yard punt didn't he? Saw him pin Miami inside the 20 also.Pondering Her Percy wrote: That blocked punt is on two people: Loeffler and Banyard. That was not on Locke at all. What time is Zimmers Monday presser. I would imagine he has calmed down some, but I am anxious to hear what he has to say a day later. I don't think I would have liked to be in the locker room after the game. That had to be brutal.
