Rick picked our last one. Has had a hand in a lot of these picks. I wouldn't be so happy about him doing the picking next year. Did the Wilf's extend his contract yet?UKno1VIKING wrote:Season over. Hopefully we can pick up some key pieces in next years draft.

In truth, its been sad and disappointing to be a Viking fan EVERY year. ALL OF THEM. From 1961 to today, they have always disappointed and saddened their fan base.Laserman wrote:Sad to be a Viking fan these daysNot much to be excited about. Gonna need a great draft and a few serious FA pickups to bring this average Defense and total crap offense into NFL prominence
I can't believe I've remained a fan all these years. I always root for them, every year.
I haven't purchased any Viking gear since Brad Childress was our coach and never will until they win a Super Bowl.
Luckily, I have quite a bit of stuff and can always find gear on Ebay. I just can't bring myself to line Ziggys pockets with my hard earned money.
Don't pick a fight with an old Viking. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

Yeah. That's a tough position to put a rookie QB in. He did well up until the forced int. Maybe if the clock was working, he'd have a thought of just settling with something short. How much time was left before the the INT anyway?

I'm upgrading WR to our highest priority. We need a guy that Bridgewater can just chuck it up there and the receiver goes and gets it. Obviously Cutler has that luxury but many other teams too. Dalton looks horrible without AJ Green on the field. Mike Evans was a monster today. Kelvin Benjamin, same thing. Heck, even Favre had Rice to throw it up to with confidence that he'll come down with the football.UKno1VIKING wrote:Season over. Hopefully we can pick up some key pieces in next years draft.

No, I don't think they have yet. However, who would you have drafted instead? Blackmon? Claiborne? Richardson? Honestly there really wasn't anyone at the top of the draft that even the "draft experts" were picking that year who have panned out. 20/20 you obviously take Kuechly but I don't really recall anyone making a big push for him over the others that year.PurpleKoolaid wrote: Rick picked our last one. Our defense has improved this year! They was on the field an awful lot today.
But offense sucked today big time! If it wouldn't been for Cutler throwing all them int's it would have been worse.
On another note: how bout them Manning Boyz's 7 int's between the 2 of them.

This is what I've been saying for a while now. Some are so critical of Spielman yet nobody has any answers to what we should have done instead. That year we could have used a LT, CB, and WR. As bad as this sounds, Kalil was the best pick of the 3. At least he showed promise and has played. Claiborne was a nightmare in Dallas and Blackmon is a moron. So yeah, no matter what anyone says, there was no better answer in that spot other than Kalil. And it was an even better move trading down 1 spot because that trade helped us trade up for HarrisonS197 wrote: No, I don't think they have yet. However, who would you have drafted instead? It was the right move at the time no doubt. But around that, our team isn't really beaming with talent.S197 wrote: No, I don't think they have yet. However, who would you have drafted instead? god help us. It is not bad enough to have suffered watching that debacle but now we have to endure a 1000 posts from the usual source of "Ricky sucks, Kalil sucks, Ricky sucks, Fire Ricky............

Ive been saying this all year. We have no #1 or #2 WR. Just a bunch of lackluster #3's.S197 wrote: I'm upgrading WR to our highest priority. I don't think this team lacks talent.... I honestly don't know what we lack really. Consistency mainly. Something about this team, when game day comes around we just don't seem to have any urgency on confidence every other game. Just going through the motions.
This team can be very, very good. But it seems every time we lose, there's a new core of the team that finds a way to mentally or physically be out of the game. Really, the only group on the field that's been consistently poor is the oline (mainly the left side).
I know a lot of people won't like me to say this, but quite frankly over the season, I think the offensive play calling has been poor as well. We don't seem to cater to what our players do well in given situations. Norv has not done a very good job IMO of adapting his scheme to fit the talents of his players

Oh you have a friend, how nice. The same dude who thought #7 (another great pick by Rick) should even have more time at QB.Pondering Her Percy wrote: .....what's new
