But a lot of us aren't worried about anything. We are actively excited at the prospect of trading AP and all the ways it could happen.

Then that's what you're projecting onto the blank canvas. I wasn't trying to create a comprehensive list of emotional responses to the situation, just making the point that people are filling the void of information in their own ways.

All I know is, I'm sick of waiting around for this situation to be resolved. I have a feeling something is in the works though.

I thought I read this morning that the Saints are still funky with the cap in spite of the cuts they've made.
Even trading Graham wasn't enough becuase Unger's salary put them back over....I could be wrong, I'm a little rummy at this point when it comes to cap and contract details.

I just reread the piece I was talking about. The Graham trade only saves them $2mil this year, but Unger's contract costs them $4.5. It didn't say anyting about their total cap space.
It did say they (their GM) looked to spend their space fixing the defense.

I guess that's why they're talking to Spiller...eh?

I don't trust any of these reports now.

According to a league source close to the situation, the Bucs have had internal discussions of trading for Peterson. Whether the pursuit for the veteran tailback has already occurred or will occur, no clear answer was given. Instead, I was told there are "aggressive" plans in place.

Could this be what we're all waiting for??!!! Aggressive plans tells me Spielman could be working them for more than we think and Tampa is willing to do it. Please tell me we could land Lavonte David and picks or a haul of picks!! I'm like a kid in a candy store right now!!

While I love your enthusiasm and the idea, I wouldn't hold your breath on David. I don't know if new GM Jason Licht would make that move (I wouldn't). The old regime gave up two picks to move up to nab him in the second round (smart). He's going to be in the league a lot longer than Peterson (and at an equally high level) and if Licht is looking long-term (which he should be with that roster) it'd be a pretty stupid and short-sighted move as they're a lot further away from the Super Bowl (or even playoffs) than Peterson. Of course, that seems to be a theme with them (Revis). But if I was to fantasize with you, I love the idea of Barr and David with, say, Perryman or Kendricks in the middle. That'd be fun to watch.

IF they do trade AD, they better get at least a 1st rd pick plus a 3rd or I will be livid. I still would be shocked if anyone put a package like that together, especially Dallas. They offered Murray only $5 million per year, I can't see them wanting to give AD much more than that.

That seems pretty unlikely to me, especially since TB has Lovie Smith as their head coach. Rumor has it he's pretty fond of linebackers and defense in general.

Maybe this will be the rumor that turns out to be true but "a league source close to the situation" seems to disclose something "new" about this Peterson situation every day and it still seems like nobody knows anything more than what's readily apparent to all of us. I'd like to point out its possible to offer a bad deal "aggressively" aggressive =/= desperate.
