Well, so far, Ricky has resigned Jones (who we never even used last year, which is amazing since Elf is a sub par center) and Kline (who no other team even wanted after last season, which IS the season that counts). Great job Ricky!!! Now draft your 1 Oline player in the first 3 rds, and maybe another later on. Although with Kubiak coming on, and maybe having the sense to tell Zim he may need to do his job and tell Stef to run the gd ball, maybe Kubiaks guys can light a fire under this weak Oline we still have.

The Vikings have re-signed C/G Brett Jones. Solid depth signing there. Glad we got him back
I like him but he's a center-only who has poor movement/speed and is terrible at he second level (thankfully he's pretty darn good at the point of attack). Depending on how things shake out in the draft, my expectation is he is either competing for starting center or (more likely) depth piece. Elflien has much more of a chance to be moved to guard than Jones, though I don't anticipate Jones starting anywhere, barring injury.

More options can only be a good thing, and signing Jones possibly gives us options at center and guard if he can beat out Elf at center, and if Elf can turn into a serviceable guard. Lots of ifs, but it is better than just moving a RT to guard and saying "good enough", like we did last season.

Jones played guard in NY quite a bit. For some reason, we never used him there. But he can definitely play it.

Vikings signed OL Dakota Dozier, formerly of the Jets.
Dozier is a jack-of-all-trades reserve lineman who typically saw 100-200 snaps per season with Gang Green. He will be employed in similar fashion in Minnesota.
Dakota Dozier in his 4 years with the Jets has only played a total of 502 snaps.
But over the past 3 seasons,
His overall grades were:
79.9 in 2016
63.2 in 2017
54.5 in 2018
And his pass block grades were:
88.9
61.3
69.2
Pressures allowed were:
1
9
1
Not too bad of a depth signing here. Dozier has played guard, some center and was an offensive tackle in college so he can play all over the OL. Reminds me of Mike Harris who I always thought was better than some thought. He was actually pretty good in 2016 according to PFF and we got him for near vet minimum. I’ll take it

Dozier was cut by the Jets... to make room for Tom Compton. Yeah, here's to hoping someone can beat him in camp.
Wow, I hope we aernt in that bad of shape, where we pick up trash that other teams toss out to make room for someone like Compton. I wonder who was cut to make room for who ever signs Remmers.

Not sure where you are seeing that Dozier was cut. He was re-signed by the Jets on a 1 year contract last year. He was a free agent this year. He was never cut. No less for Tom Compton.
It's simply a depth signing. The guy isnt starting.

If you want to get technical, he wasn't cut. Fact of the matter is they value Compton over him and that is concerning. I realize he's just a depth signing but I'm still hopeful a guy like Isidiora can beat him out. The Jets OL was pretty bad last year and this guy was rarely even activated on game day.

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. Compton was more appealing to the Jets because he was playing poorly on a different team while Dozier was playing poorly in practice on their team last season.

I mean that happens all over the league. Teams replace depth guys with other depth guys
