I've seen every throw he's ever made since his first start at OU. He's been saddled by crap "weapons" since 2010...even then GM Billy Devaney has made that statement saying; "we failed Sam, we never put play makers around him.."
I'm hopeful he'll start this week at Tennessee but only he knows when he is comfortable enough to take the reigns.

I sure hope you are right.....the more time I have had to digest this the more I like it and agree with you. I live close to STL and watched SB as a Ram. It will all come down to staying healthy......if he can.....we will be just fine.

I found this article this morning and found it extremely informative. For all the #### about the price the Vikings paid, the reality is that the Vikings were faced with either paying a premium or doing nothing at all. Even non-contenders aren't just giving away starting-caliber QBs.
a first round draft choice is NOT a guaranteed ProBowler, or even a starter, in the NFL...Living in Chicago I cant begin to tell you how many 1st round busts I have watched. Much like Bridgewater, a first round draft choice is just a bunch of potential with NO guarantee. With AP getting older and having assembled a really promising core of wide-outs, I can see why Spielman made the call. As you all likely noticed, I dont think Spielman is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think he has failed miserably in creating an OL. But I dont think that the move for Bradford is wrong. If Bradford fails due to a lack of protection, well we are back to square on NEXT year. It wont make a difference if we have Bridgewater OR Bradford...or Shaun Hill.....None of em will get the job done without a good OL. I am not sure what it will take before Spielman takes that position seriously and commits to creating a OL worthy of a Super Bowl.

As long as he doesn't get cheap shotted again on his knees he will be fine. The dude has taken a beating and is a tough QB. People confuse acl's with being soft some times.

Best "team". Offense? This team doesn't have a #1. It has a patchwork offensive line that hasn't played together. Questionable TEs. The HB who makes QBs better hasn't had a QB who's looked "better" other than Favre since he's been in the league. He might be the best QB the team has got since Favre though...that's something.
At least the Vikes might get a few Olinemen now. I fine it odd that there are so many posters who have posted you cant make big deals for old players. Especially if they are old and been injured for what seems like most of their career.
I'd like to see Bradford get the start against the Titans. Give him a bite of the playbook and make sure he's ready to run those plays, but get him out there and see what he can do. Better to do that than have him suit up for the first time in the home opener against the Packers, plus it can't possibly be worse than the Josh Freeman experience against the Giants a few years back. That alone has completely desensitized me to anything that Bradford could possibly do poorly against the Titans.
Shurmur has worked with him twice before and I think can help get him ready. Zimmer should saddle him up and see what Spielman wrangled for him.
Question for you trivia types/ historians of the NFL:
We traded a first and a conditional pick for Bradford. The contingencies linked to that second pick seem unorthodox to me in that it is not contingent upon the player's (Bradford) performance, but rather the Team's. Is that common?
Secondly, Philly's GM must think we have the potential to get to the NFCC this year (in which case it becomes a 3rd Rd pick) or even win the SB (2nd). Either that, or he is trying to hedge his bets a bit with the compensation. If we do horrible, that first round pick will be high. If we win the SB, it's practically a 2nd, thus the other pick needs to be higher for his team to be fairly compensated. etc. What's your interpretation?

I'm not sure if it's common but it's not unprecedented. I'm sure I've seen similar conditions before, although I can't specifically recall where (helpful, eh?). In this case, the conditions are sort of tied to both personal and team achievements. there doesn't seem to be a statistical milestone Bradford has to achieve but the conditional picks do hinge on him playing 80% of the snaps.

Oh, interesting. I hadn't seen that. So if he plays less than 80% of the snaps, it's a 4th?
