... or a limo? How far did he have to walk to get to his ride? That could be crucial information and we don't have it! GAHHH!

Favre was going to retire. They don't need to beg Peterson. He's under contract and wants to play next year. Maybe the commercial flight simply indicates that they're meeting on more even ground and nobody is begging or pleading with anybody.DK Sweets wrote:People are mocking the PFT report, but honestly, it seems like common sense to me. If you begging somebody to come play for you, you don't have them fly commercial to come see you. You think they would have done that with Favre?
I think it's a legit consideration....but I have to laugh at all the ins and outs of this. Plus I don't know any of the actual details regarding AD going to NY other than the bits and pieces being posted here.....so, I'm going to keep a light aire about it until something solid happens. It's been uncomfortable watching this thing unfold.DK Sweets wrote:People are mocking the PFT report, but honestly, it seems like common sense to me. I was borrowing the Wilf Plane today... I had to pick up Jessica Sanchez and bring her to her family's house.Mothman wrote: Favre was going to retire. They don't need to beg Peterson. It's certainly possible to read something into the fact that they didn't send a private jet for him but since it's not clear exactly what it means, it's just more grist for the rumor mill.
I think the two situations are a meaningless distinction. Adrian may be under contract, but he doesn't have to give top effort and he doesn't have to be a team player. He could either be an amazing asset for this organization or he could be a cancer - and the team knows (or should know) it. If the Vikings want to keep him, they should be trying to make sure this is all smoothed over. Instead, it's looking like they don't care very much at all - I don't blame them, and I've somehow moved all the way around to hoping Peterson gets traded. But I do think their actions speak loudly.Mothman wrote: Favre was going to retire. They don't need to beg Peterson. He's under contract and wants to play next year. I thought you would have used that opportunity to take Beyonce somewhere.PurpleMustReign wrote: Favre was going to retire. They don't need to beg Peterson. The former NFL MVP and long time face of the franchise has to buy a commercial ticket to go see a guy who owns his own jet? That doesn't seem like the Vikings care much about what he has to say.PacificNorseWest wrote:How does it look like the Vikings don't care?

It's like they don't care very much at all? Zimmer and Spielman just flew down to meet and hug Peterson at his home about a week ago!DK Sweets wrote:I think the two situations are a meaningless distinction. Who says he bought the ticket himself?DK Sweets wrote:The former NFL MVP and long time face of the franchise has to buy a commercial ticket to go see a guy who owns his own jet?
It's just appalling silliness. I read that and thought "Good Lord, Evel Knievel would be astounded by that jump (to conclusions)!" It's ridiculous. One thing that hasn't been pointed out in all this meeting goofiness is that AD is not taking his agent with him, that we know of. You would think if he was trying to force a trade or ask for money he'd have the Agent with him.Mothman wrote: Maybe the jet was occupied elsewhere today.
