I don't think so. We have the cap room to keep him around and I would assume he's happier with his increased role in the offense, I don't think we could have used him anymore than we did.
Hopefully they find another Qb and give him a reason to come back. Promising him 1 yard passes until he's injured shouldn't be enough.

The Percy Harvin Saga continues unabated. It's always something weird with Percy. How do you go from being a last minute scratch against Green Bay to season ending IR?

They determine your sprain is more severe than initially believed and you aren't going to recover quickly enough to play the rest of the season. It's really not that mysterious.

He wasn't a last-second scratch. He didn't even travel.

There's a weird determination to turn any story about Harvin into something more than necessary. There's been no real indication of friction between Harvin and the team since last spring, unless you want to count a flash of "in the heat of the moment" anger during the Seattle game.

After more than _four_ weeks??? That's not an "it's worse than we thought", unless they have some of the dumbest MDs in the NFL on staff.

The initial timetable was 4-6 weeks once it was determined he had a Grade 3 sprain with a completely torn ligament. These injuries sometimes requires surgical reconstruction. It's possible he aggravated it attempting to practice last week. While I'll admit he's shown propensity for drama, he's also the ultimate competitor. Until reported otherwise I'd think he'd want to be out there helping his team make the playoffs rather than sit on the sidelines.

... or unless they diagnosed the injury properly and it just didn't respond to treatment as expected. What alternative are you proposing, that Harvin was placed on IR because there's some sort of ongoing friction between him and the team? That seems very unlikely.

Sure seemed like something might be up with with Frazier's exchange earlier. At least that's what a few talking heads were bringing up from Frazier's responses to the questions about it.
Not sure how unlikely it is, there were questions about Birk and Rice and how they handled their injuries. Harvin wanted a new contract this offseason, reports of wanting to be traded, blew up on Frazier not that long ago. And now this. Guy is going into a contract year, being paid peanuts, why would he want to come back?
Along with reports of his dislike of one Mr. Bummy McBumBum.

In retrospect, it looks like he was probably just uncertain about Harvin going on IR or not ready to announce the bad news.

CB Chris Cook was practicing for the Vikings. He had a cast on his broken right arm. Can practice now. Available to be put on active roster Dec. 20

Ok, it is official. I have lost all faith in this coaching staff. Have fun getting no running room Peterson. Us as fans will have fun watching Henry Melton destroy Fusco this weekend.
SMFH.

Maybe Schwartz will rotate in 90% of the time.

The third workout guy is ex-MSU Mankato WR Lamark Brown. #Vikings are going to put him through a physical, which could be precursor to sign.
