I disagree. His stat line today:

I agree,..... with the caveat that if Peyton had better defenses at Indy the outcomes may have different....but I generally agree with you in the diff between the two.

No doubt - Seattle's defense overcame an equally impressive choke by Russ Wilson for 57 minutes, allowing Seattle to stay in the game long enough for Wilson to come around.

That said, McCarthy did as much as anyone to lose that game for Green Bay. His play calling was atrocious, I thought.

Even though 2 of Wilson's picks bounced right off his receivers hands, he still forced some awful passes and looked clearly out of sorts, judging by his play, after that neck snapping hit by Matthews. The passes at the end were things of beauty.

As a side note, I love me some "MR. Wilson". What a classy young man, humble and very talented. And yes, TB reminds me a whole lot of Wilson for the same reasons

I personally think Wilson has taken one too many hits to the head after listening to him after the game. Dude is super lucky to be going back to the Superbowl and he should have just said that, but instead he and the rest of his team seem to think they deserved it. Packers handed it to them and granted, they took what was handed to them, but they were extremely fortunate the Packers pulled a Vikings and completely imploded. The funniest part of the whole thing is, having experienced this so many times as a Vikings fan I could see it happening well before it happened, and in some strange way it was nice to see some other team do it at a critical moment for once instead of my team, especially one that has enjoyed so much historical success as the Packers and has so rarely (if ever) completely imploded like that.

I'll still be rooting for the Hawks against the Pats, though, mostly because I can no longer stand Belicheat and Brady.

After reading Barnwell's column at Grantland, I have to think that the only real play where a GB player choked was on the onside kick....check that, the 2 point conversion was a poor defensive play too.

The OT TD was a great read and change at the line by Wilson. I read that is was originally a designed run and the Packers were lined up for it then Wilson changed it at the line. The 4th qtr performances by Wilson and Lynch were top notch.

I'm inclined to agree that the 4th qtr playcalling for the Pack's offense was too conservative. And if it's true that Rodgers expressed frustration at it...hooray! Nothing like discontent in cheeseland.

I also agree with the chorus of voices questioning McCarthy's decisions on 4th downs early in the game. Huge victories for the Seahawks D and made what happened at the end of the game possible. Even if they only converted one of those plays for a TD rather than a FG it still puts them plus 1 on the scoreboard.
