I'll bet you most people would never guess that Andrew Luck had worse passer rating than Ponder did last year.

I'm not sure that comparing him to a rookie is reasonable but, regardless of numbers, everybody on this board would trade him for Luck in a heartbeat. At this point we might even throw in AD to sweeten the deal.

When I watch Luck play I see a winner in command of his game with good field vision. When I see Ponder play I see a deer in the headlights with no vision, no idea what is going on downfield.

I think the arguing here over actually releasing Ponder over just benching him is silly and pointless.

I posted that I would release him but also realize that it's not realistic at this point. I just think he's killing the team and I don't want him to take another snap. That's the real point. Just get him off the field!! I know the team wouldn't release him right now and I think Fox is well aware of that too.

As far as sending a message to the team, benching him would probably be just as effective. I just can't believe Frazier is still standing behind him as his QB. How bad does the guy have to play to lose his job?! My gosh!! How bad is Cassell that they won't put him in there?!!


Another lost season with a lousy QB that is just a roadblock to any possible team success and yet the coach keeps trotting him out there. Is it something about the number 7??
