Definitely looks that way. Wonder if players on the browns will just mail it in as wellmondry wrote: Dirty move by the browns they're playing for 0-16 in week 3. 3rd string QB and trading away their franchise player! lame

If our brain trust had that much foresight...AD never would have tore his ACL, and we'd have RGIII.mondry wrote: Dirty move by the browns they're playing for 0-16 in week 3. 3rd string QB and trading away their franchise player! lame

Browns never had any chance to begin with.

Just poked around on a Browns' board and that seems to be how their fans view it: looking for ammo to get their QB of the future in next year's draft.Crax wrote: Definitely looks that way. Wonder if players on the browns will just mail it in as well
Re: Vikings/Browns talk
They brought McGahee in for a physical. Uh Oh, now we might be in trouble!
Or Bobby Rainey who couldn't break 4 ypc in the preseason for the Ravens.
And some unpronouncable half fullback.
With Hoyer in front of him.

Honestly, the worst run franchise in the NFL. My guess is they'll go winless and then select Jadaveon Clowney. Then trade him. Why? Because they are the Browns.
The only upside to this is if they really are looking to pull a "Major League" and lose out. It is probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen. If they get a QB, then what? They are a hot mess top to bottom.

Re: Vikings/Browns talk
And AD would never have run with a purpose and RGIII would be playing meh after getting inured? And we'd still be harping on how Musgrave doesn't put all the weapons on the field. Yeah, devil's advocate is fun but circular.Demi wrote: If our brain trust had that much foresight...AD never would have tore his ACL, and we'd have RGIII.![]()

We wouldn't have RG3 though, I'm almost certain we would have traded out of #2 for the boat load of picks the Rams got to try and fill more holes. At that point it was only half a year into the Ponder era and I think spielman would have been happy with that haul.

I'm going to apologize in advance. I just picked the Vikings in the survival league I'm in this week. If we lose, you can blame me for jinxing it.

I'll be disappointed if the Vikings don't dominate this game. Home opener, loud crowd, opponent that's already waving the white flag in week 3. Don't think many of the Browns players will be very motivated. Vikings should be foaming at the mouth right now. I want to see a Belichick-style 56-10 pummeling. No mercy.

If the Vikes lose this game, their play-off hopes are pretty much dashed. I feel like this team will come out fired up and win going away.
I see AD and Patterson having big games and for some reason I think that Rudolph will as well. This is a huge game believe it or not.

Hoyer starting, Richardson traded? I was wrong, it won't be a blowout, it'll be a blowout shutout. It'll be our first shutout in 327 games (including playoffs). Our last shutout occurred 20 years ago in 1993 when we beat Detroit 13-0. It's currently the 3rd longest shutout drought in the NFL behind Washington (360 games) and Arizona (332).
Not likely, they host Jacksonville in week 13. Somethings gotta give xD. Maybe they'll tie and both teams will finish 0-15-1.BGM wrote:Honestly, the worst run franchise in the NFL. My guess is they'll go winless

I dunno... The Vikes have a way of making crappy backup QB's look like Joe Montana.Demi wrote:No way we lose this game. Jason Campbell?![]()
They are one of two teams with a worse QB then we have...as their starter. Much less their backups!

Holy cow an awful lot of confidence on this board.
When was the last time this team blew out ANYBODY? Maybe the Bills in our much-feared 6-10 2010 season?
C'mon Man. This team has zero meaningful experience blowing out another team. We have no idea how to do it, what it feels like or when or why it should be done.
My prediction is the first half will actually be close, second half pretty well in our favor, overall a semi-ugly win.

Re: Vikings/Browns talk
The NFL has unintentionall created an incentive for team mgmt to sell everything out for a Franchise QB. How many of the coaches/GMs in the league have had a long tenure without a Franchise QB? On average I bet it is 3-5 years tops. Get one and you are immortal for 8-10 years, tons of media fanfare, and big $$$. I get that from a competitive standpoint this type of attitude is disgusting, but can anyone deny that this incentive exists?
Unless the NFL makes rules changes such that other positions are made more valueable (ie change all the stupid pass interference penalities) this will continue.
