The 2009 team was better and that was with Brett Favre leading the offense and they couldn't win in Chicago. In fact we've only won 2 games in chicago since 2000. They just have to execute. They tend to step on their own feet in Chicago. I remember that game, it was a close game that went into overtime. The Vikings had that game won but shot themselves in the foot when Peterson fumbled the ball. And what made that loss even more terrible is that we were 11-4 and the Bears were 6-9, we were the favorites to win.Orion wrote:

That game just goes to show you that anybody can win. The odds were in our favor but that didn't guarantee us a win. Just like it doesn't guarantee the Bears to win this sunday.

That was one of my favorite games. It was essentially the point where I knew without a shadow of a doubt that Childress was a joke. I mean seriously, 30 points in one half after Favre had had enough compared to the 7 points of the previous 6 quarters! Unreal! The offense, which had been absolutely pathetic the week before in an embarrassing 26-7 road loss at Carolina, was once again awful in the first half at Soldier Field. One horrible play call after another, a continuation of Childress' genius from Carolina, coupled with inept execution put the Vikings in a 16-0 hole at the half. But in the second half, Favre gave Brad Childress the metaphoric finger, audiblizing on virtually every play and racking up 30 second-half points. An incredible throw and even more incredible TD catch by Sidney Rice along the left side of the end zone brought the Vikings to an improbable 30-30 tie with just a few seconds left in regulation.
But then in overtime ... AP fumbled, and some retread WR named Devin Aromashodu somehow got behind Antoine Winfield for a 39-yard TD. Vikings lose. Again. We thought so much of this Aromashodu cat that we signed him, after which he proceeded to do absolutely nothing.
Yeah, love playing the Bears at Soldier.
