I'm new here and trying to take social cues from other posters. If you could PM me and explain this "other" to me, I'm very interested in acquainting myself with the 70s and 80s.
As far as my actual cost of being a Vikings fan, I saved a lot of money this year by pre-ordering Madden 25. Free Sunday Ticket is hard to beat. I'm still waiting to drop the money on my new jersey (I don't know whether to get a replacement for my old Peterson or just get a Smith jersey). If you include Madden as a byproduct of my Vikings fandom, include all my memorabilia, and include anything I consume while watching the games, the price is pretty decent. I think if you divide the amount of dollars I've invested and divide it by the hours of enjoyment, it was worth it every time. Even in 2010.
This year the costing out of Sunday Ticket will be @ 3.47 per week. That's on 52 weeks, not just the season. BTW, I got a survey from DirecTv and they were showing a single team package as a potential option to see if people would want it. Um, yes.
Other than ST, we still eat regardless, but sometimes go a little more upscale when we have friends over to watch the games
Hoping my $$ is well spent this year!

Our house isn't getting the NFL ticket this year which, typically split with another room mate for the past couple seasons, means about $130-150 for the year. Unfortunately, that's not in the cards this year. The lead I received on the alternate NFL Ticket looks like it will be the best option, so that is $100. I also may attend a couple games this year. My cousin has season tickets for the Seahawks so I may head up there for that game and I'll be in Minneapolis around the holidays so I may try to catch the final Dome game against Detroit. If this ends up being the case it may be a few hundred or so. I will say, the price of not having to go to a bar at 9:30am to fight for a tv that's showing the Vikes, a spot around said tv and having to order food/drinks while there is pretty much worth the Direct TV cost if its available. Also, having the ability to record games and watch them later (especially during the nice months at the beginning of the season) is a really nice feature
honestly I don't know how people go without the sunday ticket, it may be the best invention in my lifetime. although i'll concede i'll be giving up my packages to watch the twins and t-wolves this year. my wife gets tired of 300+ dollar directv bills...
other than the package vikes don't cost me much. I have about 20 jerseys but honestly don't wear them anymore. prefer t-shirts and hats now. so other then whatever is on the menu on sundays and a crapload of beer I don't get crazy.
whatever it is it is worth every penny for me win or lose.
