Madden 13 was the best Football game ever made, dont know how anyone can see otherwise.
2k5 was dope dude, I wasted many an hour back in the day on that game, and while it is true that it took a long time for Madden to catch up, it as definently surpassed that of 2k5. (Obviously, Its 2013.)
Lol.
Madden 13 is just like all the other Maddens since 2005: Pure trash.
'Connected Careers' is just an asinine feature that ruined franchise mode. The so called 'infinity engine' is in fact finite. Pass trajectories are still the same (they treat every ball the same). Attributes are still screwed up. Players drop the ball consistently on slight contact. There is no way to win a jump ball (a 5'9 player has the same range as a 6'5 player). Tight passes in zone windows doesn't exist. Defensive players still glitch through players to make interceptions. The CPU glitches to catch up to fast players. Online play is still awful because of the connection issues. Best of all? Super linebackers still exist.
I could you link you to some videos showing how garbage Madden 13 is but I will not since the videos have extreme language and I like posting here...

And I am a consumer. Video games aren't some novelty any longer. My gripes with Madden are no different than someone who is griping about a a laptop, software, or any other consumer good. It is too much for me as a consumer to ask for a product that is 1). not monopolized, and 2). doesn't suck ####?

Screw it, let Barry be on the cover. He deserves some recognition for what he accomplished in the NFL. Most of the kids playing the game these days need to know about who Barry is and what he did as a player. Let the old dude be happy this year. I do not believe in the "curse", but id rather not mess with it.
Let AD finish his career, and put him on the cover after he is inducted into the HOF. Thats how the game should decide who gets put on the cover anyways.
I wouldn't be upset to see Madden start putting an "old school" AND current player on the cover... sort of like Tiger Woods did this year with Arnold Palmer.

Also, forgot to mention in my last post...
Madden needs to get rid of the cover voting from fans. I mean, when a guy like PEYTON HILLIS makes it you know you screwed something up.

The new Franchise mode was by far the worst thing Madden has done since the creation of the game. Why on earth would they not allow you to adjust rosters before starting a franchise and eliminate the fantasy draft feature. The Franchise mode was the really Madden's only redeeming quality, and the fantasy draft system was very, very popular. Now you're stuck with the game's roster to start the career, you can't adjust stats before the start of the game (for example making Blair Walsh a competent kicker) and it's impossible to trade for certain players. I remember trying to get AJ Jefferson on the Vikings, and could not offer anything that they would accept. Just for #### and giggles I even tried offering them JA, AD and Harvin for AJJ, and they turned it down.
Plus the new system where you just fall down when you run into the back of your own player was extremely frustrating. And as alluded earlier, they didn't fix a lot of the kinks that need fixing. Following through with a season is so annoying when the best you can get a player to accumulate is like 3-5 tackles a game and yet players on other teams are racking up 15-20 tackles a game.

Well to be fair, they only really fix the game every 4-5 years. Everything in between is just a glorified roster update at 60 bucks a pop.

Not exactly, as being Vince Young is in and of itself a curse!
But seriously, wtf is this nonsense with non-current players being eligible for election to this cover? No disrespect to Sanders, but AD should be gracing that cover! I don't believe in such voodoo as a "Madden curse" anyway, he'll be just fine. Heck, he might go all Calvin and break the record this year!

Woohoo. Really dodged a bullet there.
(Now let's watch poor Barry's house burn down this year, or else fall off his bike and break an arm.)

To me it seems like they fix a few things, and break something else.
They made the CBs more competent buy giving them the ability to adjust to the throws and such. Left the WRs completely moronic.
Made the tackling system "Better". Completely eliminated the idea of trucking(Kind of like the new helmet rule), running up the middle and spinning. No CB will ever be able to just lay a shoulder into AP in open field and he'll fall over. Nor would AP get stuck on the back of his own linemen and just fall over. Or pretty much any starting RB for that matter.
Taking out fantasy draft.

If you think it is unrealistic for any starting RB to get stuck on the back of their own lineman and fall over, watch any Packer game for the last 3 or four years.
But I agree, the tackling is alot better, I dont understand what the big deal is with connected careers, its a VIDEOGAME.
If it sacrifices a small amount of customization, for an all around deeper, richer gameplay, im all for it. At least connected careers has some replayability to it, but I guess most people would rather toil away scouting randomly generated players for 30 mind numbing seasons that has absolutely no immersion whatsoever.

Did actually, but then Barry Sanders got voted to the cover.

While it is true that the halfback can get stuck behind the offensive line from time to time, Madden this year has made running power insufferable. The halfbacks try to run Iso or power through either the 0,1, 2, or 3 holes and they consistently get stuck behind a lineman and fall down. I once had Adrain Peterson try to run behind Matt Kalil on a counter play and he fell over in the open field because he brushed up against Matt while he was lead blocking.
I also disagree with Connect Careers being a 'deeper and richer' experience. It is not. It is scripted. McNabb always either signs with Cleveland or Arizona. Free agency at the end of the offseason has the same guys give or take one or two each time. Each draft class of rookies has its own set of story lines that hardly fluctuate.
Long story short, the only true 'innovation' i saw from Madden this year was the social media connection. Hardly something to be proud of.
